about me

"Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work" (Aristotle)

This is my first novel of which I have also written a follow up.... My writing is not 100% perfect. I don't have an agent. And my book hasn't been edited. But it's finished and I'm proud of what I've achieved!

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has backed, commented and rated, The First Chapter, so far. I'm open to all genres and always support those who have supported me (If your book isn't on my book shelf I promise you it's on my watchlist and will be on my book shelf soon. In the mean time I read, rate and comment as I go along)

I'm a first time mummy so am constantly editing chapters -please bare with me! :-)

The First Chapter....

Zerin Mewa

Join three friends as they embark on they're journey through College. Along with laughter, love and family, comes drama, heartbreak and lies...

Kimi is an optimistic, outgoing party girl who has had everything she has ever wanted out of life, but a sudden move from her native Canada leaves many unanswered questions about her absent father and mother and siblings strange behavior. A devastating family secret they're keeping from her threatens to tear their lives apart.

Ameera is from a wealthy upbringing, with a beautiful house and a wardrobe full of every girls dream. However, her father’s strict beliefs of an arranged marriage is starting to take it's toll and the cracks begin to show in her so called 'perfect life'. Will she be trying on wedding dresses before graduation gowns?

Ness is from a tough upbringing where nothing is taken for granted. She has a brother and sister whose lives revolve around drugs, a mother who is on the verge of a breakdown and a father who wakes up reaching for a bottle. Will she ever get the happily-ever-after that she's been waiting for, or is she too heading towards a dead end?

All three girls come from different worlds and backgrounds. Will their friendship last through the ups and downs of teenage life, or are they just too different?

A very interesting read! It's well written and the structure is tight. I like the way you describe scenes' it almost pulls the reader in (a good start) The only nitpick I would have is the first chapter, maybe just get the pace going a bit more. Other than that I'm looking forward to reading more. H... view book

You're prologue alone has me hooked! I like the dialect you use and the 'rawness' of the book. It makes it realistic and a page turner! I am really looking forward to reading this and have starred the prologue alone in the mean time (I don't do that often) ;-) view book

I like the way you write and you're descriptions of people and places, it helps the reader visualize more. This book is not only interesting to read but also informative about a place not many people know a lot about. I also like you're characters, it's like their coming to life. Beautiful and looki... view book

The blurb for this book caught my eye a while back! The rest of the MS is a page turner and really well written. I like the diary technique, it's something I've also used (great minds think alike) :-) It's a good way to get in to the characters heads and keeps the reader interested. I'm reading thro... view book

November - 1999 - What a hook! Well done! The first few paragraphs are what grips the reader and I think you've nailed this! Not really my type of genre but because of that first page I want to know what happens next. On my WL and starred! view book
