about me
I am an ex patriot from Britain, now resident in Canada since 1979 and have family on both sides of the Atlantic. Aside from writing, which is my number one passion, I love to paint, mostly in acrylics, and I am happy to be a volunteer recorder of audio books for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind in Toronto. I confess to being almost computer illiterate, much to the annoyance of my grandsons, who find this whole technical environment as natural as breathing. 'Poor Nanna' is an oft repeated phrase during their visits. I count myself so fortunate to have found the Authonomy website. The world of publishing can be ruthless and cruel to the novice writer and we are all in need of some encouragement. I daresay I will become more comfortable 'exposing' my thoughts, feelings and opinions to the world, but for now I cannot control the shaking as I wait with toes crossed( I can't afford to cross my fingers-I need them for my craft!) for reactions to my work. But there is the other side to all this. The chance for me to read the efforts of like minded writers and to offer constructive comment on their work. Thank God for Harper Collins and for all pros who give art a chance. I look forward to making new friends as my sensitive hide toughens in the next few months.
