about me

Update - SPC has moved from 6,000 to 592 - Wheeeeeee! - what a pink Cadillac ride! I've changed the book cover, the old one is my avatar - you can tell me which one you like best, however, the new book cover will take a few days to pop up. Sorry you have to look at the bland BC until then. (No pun on my character's name intended - well maybe so) But thanks to all who are backing the book. Lots of love back atcha!

I'll be tickled pink to take a look at your writing if you'll be tickled pink to reciprocate. If it's a subject that isn't my cup of tea, I'll say so. I'm not particularly interested in some genres, but will let you know. If I forget to read something I've promised, send a nudge. It could be something in the air or the loss of brain cells. It's not intentional. Have a great writing day and may you dream entire plots!

After a lifelong love of books, I enjoy stringing words together to see what they say and where the story might lead.

One thing I'd love to see more of in Christian fiction for Young Adults is truth and transparency and I think that can be done without too much shock value with the use of overdone vulgarity.

With that said, so many young people are turned off by Christian novels because the characters are white washed. Most teens in our culture no longer live sheltered lives. If we can give them reality - if they can see how some flawed characters, though Christian and sometimes failing, yet persevering and bouncing back to live victorious lives - then we can give them hope that they too can survive heartbreaking trials and overcome.

And that's what I've tried to show with the quirky characters in my YA novel Shakespeare's Pink Cadillac. Hope you enjoy!

*Peace*

YA novel about redemption

A coming of age Christian YA novel about redemption, Paralee Striker is a troubled military brat who's attended more schools than she cares to count and craves stability in her life. But once again her Dad informs her. A move. Fourteen-year-old B.C. Cranover, alias "Shakespeare," lives in a dysfunctional family and drives an ancient pink Cadillac with a hardship license.

He becomes Paralee's friend against all odds of the CA girl ever being interested in him. When B.C. and buddies are fishing, they stumble upon what could be a terrorist cell. If that isn't enough to deal with, a prank by school bullies goes too far. Paralee recognizes that not only does the city need saving, she needs saving as well. And in more ways than one. But will she be able to climb out of the foxhole she's dug for herself?

I'm taking you up on your forum offer to swap reads. Read the first chapter and will read more later - however, writing is good, description excellent, and this looks like a YA read teens will like. High starring! ~Kady Colter, Shakespeare's Pink Cadillac view book

Hi Jane, This is a good story and I think if you could find an agent it would be published soon. They're always looking for the unusual and this fits the bill. Have you sent it in to agents yet? I'm starring high and backing. Enjoyed how you know the feel of riding a horse and could put the exper... view book

Story telling at its finest. I was in that delivery room and I wanted to tell Job's mother-in-law, "I can take it from here, why don't you go on down the hall for a Co-Cola and rest your puppy dogs." Highly starred and backing when I can do some house cleaning on my shelf. ~Kady Colter, If you get... view book
