about me

I am currently in third year of university studying English, Journalism and Creative Writing and, while I love it, the twitch in my right eye hints that the stress has started to manifest itself as a physical symptom :)

Feel free to read my book :) I have made changes, based on the kind people that have already looked at it. But this site hates me a little, and it won't always let me update chapters, so apologies for that.

But, it finally let me update the cover (yey!) :) Many thanks to the wonderfully talented Phil Partington (Philthy).

PS At the moment I have a list of people's books I have promised to read :) I will get to them -- I haven't forgotten you.

favourite books

Harry Potter (massive fan, possibly bordering on obsessed?), True Blood, Edgar Allan Poe's Annabel Lee, anything Roald Dahl, Jill Mansell, Jacqueline Wilson. I did enjoy Vampire Diaries at first but it got a little weird (I hate abandoning series but I couldn't read them without making faces so I had to leave it be).

Lorn: The First Fable

Arriane Kerr

Not all fairy tales are for children. And not all fairy tales are make-believe.

Emy was six weeks old when she was abandoned on the steps of a hotel with only a letter, a diary and an ugly pendant. Twenty years later she finds out why she has always felt so lonely and out of place.

Her world lies hidden behind a seam that only she can cross without dying. She meets the characters and beings that she grew up believing to be her adoptive father's greatest work of fiction. People like Trey, her hard-faced guardian, Teal, the Fairn princess, Adria, a petite pixie-like Elf. And Rovin.

Together with her new friends she must travel to Bellver, home of the Elves, with the pendant which is more than just an ugly necklace. She must learn what it means to be the Elvin stone carrier and fight to live in a world where she is, unfortunately, more valuable dead.

Hi, I've had your story on my watchlist for a while now -- have been meaning to get to it since placing it there because I thought it sounded like something I'd read. University, unfortunately is not kind and I've had so little time to come on here. But finally I've started reading and I have to say... view book

I'm finally here for the swap-read! Sorry it's taken me so long. Uni is eating away at my life. Anyway: I'm a massive fan of Harry Potter and I loved The Worst Witch when I was younger. This puts me in mind of these so this is right up my street. Have read the first few chapters and will definitely ... view book

I saw this book on another shelf and thought I'd have a look and I ended up reading the whole thing. I loved Jake as a character and adored Ray! Jake had me laughing aloud: like when he thought it was good slugs couldn't climb ladders. So simple and so humorous. You've made a well known story qu... view book

I had agreed to do a swap read with you a while back, but I have been so busy it has taken me a while so apologies for that! I have read the first couple of chapters of your book and I have to say I'm really enjoying it! I think it flows really well and I find myself able to visualise everything... view book

I have taken ages to read this so for that I apologise! I agreed to do a swap read with you but I've been so swamped with life I haven't had a chance to come on here. But, I have to say, I'm glad I waited to read this when I had time to just sit and read without any reason to have to log off anytime... view book
