about me

I have been writing since I was a teenager. It has always been an escape for me; and there have been areas in my life from which I have definitely wanted to escape, as I am sure with everyone else on this site. Writing Inside Out was a cathartic experience for me as it was a catalyst for change and gave me a new perspective on self-acceptance. Writing the book did really change my life which always sounds a cliche but is part of the truth. The other part that helped was learning shamanism which healed issues in the most amazing way. All this having been said I am lucky to be a mother of two wonderful children and a full time teacher and I have a very accepting partner and a wonderfully supportive family. I have stability in my life and the avenue for self-expression in my writing.

Inside Out and The Olive Tree are both finished books but only part of each is uploaded at the moment (it takes ages).

Inside Out is a murder mystery of sorts..it is a murder of common occurence ending in a psychological battle for the self.

I always return reads and I like all genres, well mostly!
This site takes up too much of my time and it's getting harder to climb the ratings... so if you like the book, please back it...

The Olive Tree

chris ricketts

When harsh words are said amidst the branches of an olive tree, the life of Yani Souvris changes irrevocably.

Set in the Peloponnese peninsula of Greece, The Olive Tree is the story of Yanni Souvris. When words are spoken in the branches of an old olive tree, his life falls down around his feet. Leaving his sheltered valley existence for the city, Yanni meets Anna, Christos and Adam - others who also have histories to hide. The Olive Tree is a story of how the sins of the fathers are born by the sons, weaving tragedy through the family tree. It is a story of human self-deception amidst earthy passions. It is a lyrical book.

Inside Out

chris ricketts

As one life is ended through a series of injections so another one is released to begin; but can the past be buried?

The twist in this story changes perceptions.

Joe is killing off the woman in his life through a series of injections. For years he has felt imprisoned by her presence, misunderstanding that she is an integral part of his existence and that he really can’t live without her. As Rachel's final days are planned, can Joe create his new life or will his past come back to haunt him?
Rachel has tried for years to find a way of coping with her painful existence; but she can see no way out other than to give in to the needles.
Brian is trying to make it in the world of publishing but when he finds the book that could totally save his business the author has mysteriously disappeared. In his search for the author, Brian uncovers a story that if written would be better than any fictional plot.

I enjoyed this as it was unusual and reminded me a bit of a Sam Spade novel in its first person narrative. And maybe this is why i then thought, mistakenly, that the MC was a guy! I don't think the feminine comes across in the first chapter that well but it could be me. That aside, this is well writ... view book
