about me

** I have taken a break from Authonomy, it was fun, but just getting to be too much of a numbers game. Thank you to everyone who supported me in my efforts, and I wish you the best of luck.

If you like what you've read of Learn Me Good, you can get the whole thing on Amazon.

As of 8/22/11, Learn Me Gooder -- the sequel -- is available on Amazon and other online booksellers! You can read a sampling here at Authonomy.

Thanks!

John

Learn Me Good is semi-autobiographical, as Jack Woodson IS me, and nearly all of the events with the students truly did happen to me at some point or another. The names have been changed to protect the innocent, the guilty, and the marginally involved. As far as I know, no one has REALLY named their kids Lucifer, Samsonite, or Jun'tober. But then, the century is young. A lot of the anecdotes have been embellished, but as I said, most of them did happen at one time.

I still teach 3rd grade in Dallas, and am slowly but surely pulling stories together for a sequel with Jack Woodson (Learn Me Gooder?).

Learn Me Good is available at amazon.com in print and kindle editions.

My email address is learnmegood2@yahoo.com and I just started a Learn Me Good fan page on Facebook.

In this sequel to Learn Me Good, Jack Woodson (no longer a green behind the ears teacher) returns to recount another school year’s worth of challenges, triumphs, and mishaps with a brand new cast of wild and crazy students. Six years have passed, and this time around, Jack gets a talking monkey sidekick, a beautiful love interest, and a top-secret undercover CIA assignment to Uranus. (Well, ONE of those things is true, anyway). There are witty quotes, riotous stories, and more twists and turns than M. Night Shyamalan’s small intestine. Through email correspondence with Fred Bommerson, Jack talks about PTA fundraisers gone awry, unnatural food chains, and how any action can be made acceptable as long as “it’s for science.” With subject lines such as “Diarrhea of a Wimpy Kid,” “Green Eggs and Math,” and “Houston, we have a word problem,” it’s perfect for reading in small chunks or one long session.

As someone has already mentioned, this is very "Poe-esque." Creepy and horrifying, and very well done. Backed with pleasure. John Pearson Learn Me Good view book

Hey Stephanie, Congrats on the second book! Just a few things to look at: Up at the top of chapter 1, when Sean is taking all the credit, you say, "WE" would take all the credit, when it should be "HE." Also, around the middle, when she tells Sean she can't come back to the office, you hav... view book
