about me

Since leaving the army in 1986, I've lived and worked in Malaysia, South Africa, Belgium, and Singapore. I now live in Hong Kong with my Malaysian-born wife, 3 East Asian Street dogs and 5 pampered cats. I've also two grown kids (not goats).

Thanks to everyone who commented and contacted me regarding the SF 'Birdie Down'. It is now a free-to-read on Smashwords at https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/134591 and is a better book for having been here. If I commented on your work, I hope it was helpful.

Am currently writing the sequel to BIRDIE DOWN so won't be visiting Authonomy for a while. (It's as addictive as my Malboro, and I have recently remembered my goal is to write stories;-)

Best
Jim

Birdie Down

Jim Graham

The Outer-Rim rebellion stumbles into its second day

...will it survive a third?

The third generation residents of the resource-rich New Worlds are seeking to throw off the yolk of corporate rule. Ex-Resource War veteran, Sebastian Scatkiewicz and his colleague, Andrew 'Birdie' Goosen, have dared to take on the biggest company of them all. Hot from attacking the Lynthax Corporation head offices on Trevon and then on G-eo they're planning to attack a third. But there's friction in the rebel camp. Scat's ignoring the advice of colleagues. His personal beef with Jack Petroff, Lynthax's head of security, is affecting his judgement; his friends and political masters are doubting his motives; and the loyalty of the newest recruits is far from certain...

Georgia Finally got to look at the Woman from EARL. I've backed it, although it isn't my genre. I did so because you write well, the choice of tense and first person was a good one, the narrative was refreshing, and I felt as though I was getting to know the characters. There were one or t... view book

Soldiers everywhere will relate to this. Gritty. Unpolished. Just as it is. I felt I was there. Backed it. Rated it very highly. Lots of potential. Could do with an edit (see message) and hopefully a publisher. Until then, Joseph, good luck with the day job;-) My best to the Hooligans whereve... view book

Bek I liked this one (Homeworld). The dialogue is good. You keep it lively, keep it real. Interesting premise. SciFi buffs do tend to argue about religion in a story. I've heard/read some say religion and tech are at odds with each other - in conflict, you might say, as competing belief syste... view book

Dianna, 'Nothing But the Blood' is my very first christian-music-girl-based book read (aside from the New Testament, a Beatles biography and Lara the Tombraider;-) so had no idea what to expect. I must say its well written. I can see why it ranks so highly. There's a measured and confident feel to i... view book

I like the style. James Elroy meets 'Pulp Fiction'. Interesting mix. Could you give us a better image of their friend, Tommy, bleeding out on the toilet floor? After all, it's the night-altering, defining moment of the story so far. It could give the reader a better flavour of just how deep in the c... view book
