about me

I'm an accountant and mother of 2 who writes fantasy, dark fantasy and horror during my "spare" time. I have written 15 novels to date, one of which, Fervor, a dystopian science fantasy, was published by May December Publications in March 2011 (I've written the sequel, Elevation and I'm working on a third in the series, Transcendence,) and dozens of short stories. I now have a contract with MDP for the first in my Masters & Renegades fantasy series, Magic University, scheduled for an October 2011 release. My novels include 8 in my fantasy series. The working titles that I have for those that follow MU are: Casualties of War, Prisoners of Fate, Victims of Circumstance, Lines of Opposition (my favourite to date), The Enemy of my Enemy, Union of Defiance and Chasing the Node. I also have my completed trilogy: The Blood is Strong (the intro chapters posted here), The Blood Runs Deep, and The Blood Flows True. I have completed a one-off Dark Fantasy/Horror novel called Elements of Genocide and a paranormal romance, When You Whisper.

I sold my first short story on October 4, 2010, a horror story called "Palliative." I now have an assortment of shorts published in anthologies, online journals and as digital shorts.

Thank you for reading my prologue and for the tips. I will definitely use some of them on my next edit. I have a publisher now who is interested in all of my manuscripts, and I've already signed contracts for two of them, so I may be deleting my account, since I'm not left with much time to invest... view book

An excellent read. The characterization is detailed and thorough, giving the characters a "real" feel. The story line is captivating and unnerving and your imagery has that perfect balance of providing enough to set the scene but leaving some room for the reader to have to fill in the spaces with ... view book

Loved your pitch - it pulled me right in. I don't know why everyone seems to think YA books need to start with an action scene. Our children are not all mindless adrenaline junkies. This is a great intro scene, setting the stage for the story, introducing the protagonist and his current circumsta... view book

This has a classical novel feel to it - like the language was very carefully planned out, with lots of attention to detail. There's a good rhythm to the read because of this, but the contractions seem out of place as a result, and I think it would even better without them. Nice work! view book

Looks very interesting despite it being not the typical read for me. It appears to be well researched and carefully planned out. You have strong dialogue, great vocabulary and multi-dimensional characters. Nicely done! view book
