about me

I'm pretty inactive at the moment (except for several sporadic bursts that occur when I have a moment), so please do not request any reads from me. They will only incite guilt.

I have taken Loyalty down, because I hate to see it fail just because I don't have the time to swap reads with people. But if you'd like to read it just for kicks, you can message me.

favourite books

Anything Jane Austen, all the Neil Gaiman that I've read (although I hope to read everything in time!), Laurell K. Hamilton's series, and Robin McKinley.

I don't like Ian McEwan, J.D. Salinger, and any crime/murder books without something of a universal appeal.

Hey Kay! I'm sorry it's taken me such a long time to read this. I have both good and bad things to say about your book. First the bad news. I didn't feel, as I was reading, the urge to keep reading, because there was no tension or urgency: there were no stakes. The first lines read kind of like a b... view book

Your imagery is fanatastic. I could picture everything you said with instant clarity, and beyond anything I believe that is the mark of a great writer. I love the subject matter, and I love the way you phrase things, especially the part leading up to the titular line...that was great, and I loved wh... view book

Hey Steve! Thank you for the reminder - things have been a bit crazy lately, so I might not have returned the read without it! I'm sorry it's taken this long. I love the premise - people don't usually get to hear about the lives of pilots, and so I think it will be as compelling in a bookstore as ... view book

This is great! I'm sorry that I can't over such a thorough critique, as this is not quite my forte (non-fiction), but your facts are fascinating, and they bring a new light to an old legend. I found it interesting, even though non-fiction usually puts me to sleep, which is saying a great deal. And, ... view book

I LOVED the first few paragraphs, and after that I just had to keep reading. I loved every bit that I read, and I have no critiques, which is pretty unusual. Your characters are familiar and yet unique and your prose is very smooth...ah! I just loved it. Shelved! Jamie view book
