about me

Reading must be fun.

If there is a good story out there that has an adventurous plot and a solid pace, I will leap at it.

I love acting, reading, exploring different cultures, and turtles. Did I mention kitty-cats? I love them too.

A former newspaper journalist, I am happily spending my days in academia.

I enjoy writing YA cross-genre and Poetry.

favourite books

Can one choose from the stars in the sky?

I love the classics such as Jane Eyre and Count of Monte Cristo. A recent favorite was Pillars of the Earth.

But you'll never see me read a suspense novel. Sorry, I like to relax, not be on the edge of my seat trying to guess the plot. That being said, the Montebello detective series is the exception to that rule as well as Agatha Christie.

I also like historical fiction, science fiction and YA, usually because it's a cleaner read.

Feel free to pass those along.

Out of the YA genre I enjoyed:

Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Darkside
the Glass House series

Great! I'm backing this one. You have excellent characterization and the plot is fascinating. I have not come across a vampire story yet like this one--it's a fresh idea. There are some typos (but who doesn't have them in their work?). Is the second half an older draft? I ask because of the diff... view book

Interesting use of punctuation in dialogue. I can see the tension off of the main character and Natasha. Good! Starred high. -Judith B. Shields view book

I enjoyed this story. It's great, perfect for the audience who wants a comedy. Fairies are in vogue and I do think you have something here. Excellent! This is going on my bookshelf. :-D -Judith B. Shields by the way, you had "WAS...too" somewhere Chapter 3 perhaps? Wrong "to". view book

Dear Katherine, I'm glad that you used your writing talents to help bring readers closer to God. There were a few discussions on the forum calling for Christian works. Great job! Starred and on my watchlist. -Judith B. Shields view book
