about me

I'm from a small town near the four corners (where four states meet in the U.S.) where the grass grows green (when it rains) and the cows make us frisbies.
I love: writing for young adults, running (except when I'm falling down), hiking, reading, french fries with mustard, and my family.
I've had a couple of magazine articles published, but now that I've had a taste, I want the whole enchilada!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I love to browse the books and read.
If you read mine, I will read yours, its only polite.
Someitmes I forget so a reminder is a good thing.
I have four girls that keep me busy and I substitute teach. Sometimes I get behind but usually catch up by three days.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eve's Tear was inspired by a dream. It was so vivid I had to write it.
I have two other YA novels in the works and one I haven't classified yet.
I belong to the most amazing writers group ever and recommend everyone attend one.
Eve's Tear is complete, just not all on authonomy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you to everyone who has helped me so far!

Eve's Tear

S.D. Gillen

When Alix’s night terrors begin to scream, she realizes the necklace she holds is more than an heirloom, it's something that could save her life.

Charlotte a once beautiful spoiled princess turns mad as she watches her true love die night after night in a bizarre scene at the top of her castle. The necklace she possesses somehow connects her to her love and enables her to see him though he always dies. When others find she has the necklace and try to steal it from Charlotte, she realizes her life is in danger and she may not see her love anymore.
Passing on the necklace it eventually lands in the hands of Alix and causes her to have night terrors. Her best friends Luke and Sterling accompany Alix on a journey to find where the necklace belongs. Jealousy, screaming night terrors, a daunting castle, and a silver wrapped pink pearl necklace, intertwine into a maze that Alix must break through to save herself and her friends.

I love this kind of reading. I think this is a great story. I'm not sure children will be as interested in it as adults. But children SHOULD be interested because its important. My nine year old is different and would like this. My twelve year old would say, "What?" I think my point is that you a... view book

Very engaging. I like how Joe and Becky compliment each other as characters. Becky's hesitation and annoyance is contrasting to Joe's excitement. I love time travel and adventure so this is right up my alley. Uncle Percy is quirky and intruging. You write well and carry us through the story. I real... view book

What an interesting story. Very unique and unusual. And you have the writing to back it up. I think you've chosen a great name for Doe. It's soft and kind. You've held my interest and I want to read more. I liked how you told us about Doe and what she does and then gave us the back story on how she ... view book

Oh my gosh! This is hilarious! Yes, I laughed out loud. My children were giving me curious looks. I loved how the trailer park is worked into this. (I once lived in a trailer. Shhhh....don't tell anybody!) Your characters are wonderful. This is a great story and you write well. Enjoyed immensly!!! ... view book

Your cover really caught my attention. Nice. I enjoyed what I read so far. You've created a wonderful main character that as a reader, I relate to. And the words her papa tells her when she asks why people don't say she is pretty feels like poetry. The whole thing has a great ring to it. I do agr... view book
