about me

I'm 22 years old and it's about time I stop saying I want to be a writer and do something about becoming a writer.

So far this website has been helpful in getting extra pairs of eyes on my work and helping me to hone my writing. Although I enjoy kind words about my novel, I do not shy away from constructive critcism and i appreciate the honesty of telling me ways to improve.

A history major by degree, but a creative writing major at heart, I have done my work to research a period I love to create a more vivid depiction of the time in my writing.

I am always up for swapping reads and try to give anyone who backed or commented on my writing the common decency of a return read and backing. it may take a day or so depending on how busy I am, but I do try to get to everyone who asks as promptly as possible.

...Into the Lion's Mouth

Brian Montalbano

Friends stab you in the back. Lovers stab you in the front. Family stabs you right through the heart.

The death of the Roman emperor left the empire with two sons in this world. Livius was the eldest, learned in the world of politics. He took his rightful place as first citizen of the empire. The younger was Leonius, Rome's greatest general. He wanted nothing but to continue his campaigns and protect the empire.

What happens, however, when you are forced to protect the empire from your own flesh and blood? Far from seeing eye to eye, the two brothers see their relationship disintegrate to the point of violence. Can they make amends before the situation escalates? Can they work together to forge the empire they can both be proud of?

Driven by duty and honor, these two brothers share stubborn traits that push them forward to their goals. Outside threats mixed with internal conflicts lead the empire to a crossroads. A fateful battle will decide Rome's future.

Naomi really is an unlikable character who weaves a story that's hard to look away from. I've only read through the first 4 chapters, but Naomi admittedly got me trying to look ahead a few paragraphs to see where the story was heading to. Backed. Brian Montalbano, 'Into the Lion's Mouth" view book

Your plot is thorough and developed and that will do well to keep the attention of your readers. The writing, like everyone's could use a little bit of editing, but nothing that disrupted the flow of the story. I will be honest and say I only read the first three chapters, but I will also admit th... view book

As a history major, I feel stories like this need to be told more and more just so the general public understands what goes on in the places beyond their first world living style. Backed. Brian Montalbano, "...Into the Lion's Mouth" view book

Backed with pleasure. Just because a story is real does not make it easy to tell, but you make it seem easy. Gripping and bold. Brian Montalbano, "...Into the Lion's Mouth" view book

Gripping tale of two trajedies. You handle and tell the stories well and kept me captivated throughout. It needs editing, but all stories do. The story you tell is what is important and you tell it wel. Keep up the good work. Backed. view book
