about me

I currently run a small dog walking business in Glasgow and I write in between times. I was a radio news reporter when, as my mother describes it, I had a proper career and have dabbled in various working pastimes since the children started school.
At the moment I am writing about the trials and tribulations of dog walking,( there are many I can assure you), but to date, I have been trying to generate interest in my first novel, Acacia - Three Beginnings. Most of the feedback I have had has been positive, intriguing, interesting, different in a good way but I now need to come to terms with the fact that I may be flogging a dead horse!
Hence, I have consigned it to Authonomy.

Acacia - Three Beginnings

Ruby Jo McGregor

While humans resign themselves to the death of their planet, Taigen the ancient ruler of the natural world has a plan to save us all.

Minutes after she is born, baby Acacia demonstrates her extraordinary ability to adopt the characteristics of any living creature as her loving parents look helplessly on. Acacia is unaware that her powers have been gifted to her by Taigen the ancient ruler of the natural world who, through desperation, believes Acacia is the perfect solution to ending centuries of battle with human kind. But Taigen has underestimated the importance of human influence on Acacia's young life and when the moment arrives for Acacia to choose one side over the other it results in tragedy and sacrifice.

This is fun, silly and horrifying, all the things a good children's book should be. Backed. Ruby Jo view book

it reads like you had a lot of fun writing this and it rolls off the page effortlessly. A real boy's own adventure so far, will recommend it to my son. Good stuff, Ruby Jo view book

I didn't like the first few paragraphs, I thought they were a bit lame, sorry. Just reminded of lots of other stuff I've read before but something in your writing told me to keep reading and I'm glad I did. By Chapter three I'm in for keeps. I would have started the book with Luke queuing at th... view book

The pace is perfect, the story strands seamless, the characters full of need and I'm looking forward to reading more. Ruby Jo view book

I have only had time to read the first two chapters and I am really enjoying it. Your writing illustrates the history beautifully and sets it apart from a more contemporary story. Look forward to reading more. view book
