about me

************
I am an Aussie, married to a musician and we live in Queensland. I was a freelance writer for years and am now content to write what I want to write, not what others want me to write. I have five books in a state of constant flux, but whether they will all get finished is moot.

What I offer here for your escapist reading pleasure is Strange Bodies, a murder mystery set some years in the future. After spending a couple of months researching possible outcomes of current day predictions I give you my take on the world about 50 to 60 years hence.

In spite of the sheer nastiness of certain parts it also contains a little humour, a touch of romance, a soupcon of sex and a talking dog called Rolf.

But it is a classic mystery for all that; I play fair and it has enough clues for someone to work out who the murderer is. No one has to date. It could be you!

SB is complete but not all 36 chapters are uploaded.

I support books I feel drawn to, ie, ones I would buy. I rarely comment other than to say I like a book. If I back your book it means I like it and have read at least some of it. I cannot read a book that ignores the rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation, unless the story is so riveting it takes precedence. I haven't found one yet.

I don't do swap reads, neither do I read YA, childrens' or religious books, mis lit. Not keen on paranormal or horror either.

Generic spam is deleted. My WL is currently full.

Thank you to all who supported Blue Diamonds to the ED in December. The review was made public recently. It is still available on request and may become an e-book shortly.

Strange Bodies

Tonia Marlowe

Tortured, murdered … the bodies of the Richardsons dangle from a tree hidden deep in the forests of the Blue Mountains.

Unaware of their fate, Verity Burne researches their puzzling background for RAZZ, an exposé TV show, becoming increasingly frustrated.

With local police stymied, former Scotland Yard Commander, Nicholas Adams and his team, are called in. Recruited from London after losing his family in the Food Riots of 2064, Adams finds Australia scientifically advanced, though the price paid is monitoring by the central computer BigSys and the pervasive eyes of cameras that cover so much of the country. Petty crime may be obsolete but people will always find ways to circumvent systems and commit murder.

But it will take more strange deaths before the links between eight murders are recognised, links that lead to the discovery of past injustices and a thirst for vengeance. And Nick will need Verity's expertise to help unravel the twisted mind of a clever killer.

This is Australia of 2067, an oasis in a world which has barely survived the end of oil, the savagery of terrorism and wars caused by world-wide food shortages. Our future? Perhaps.

The book is complete but not all of it is uploaded.

PLEASE DO NOT BACK THIS BOOK. It has a medal. I'd love you to read my current book "Strange Bodies" instead. Thanks.

She picked the wrong man to reject - a former SAS killer. Now he wants her dead.

Major John Stratton doesn't take kindly to rejection. As a man used to eliminating enemies permanently there's only one way he wants to deal with this woman. But when his attempt on her life fails, and police dismiss her claims, she flees England with a new identity as Chloe Clarke.

In Australia, she settles into a new life-style and meets Tom Wentworth, a strong, protective man who, while realising she has secrets, loves her unconditionally. A shared enjoyment of sailing cements the growing bond between them, and Tom, with his quirky sense of humour, is the first to make her really laugh since the "accident". Chloe confides her fear of Stratton in this man she finally comes to trust. And the big secret - her true identity.

But Stratton tracks her down and now Tom and Chloe face a shared danger from a man bent on revenge - and murder.

BLUE DIAMONDS is a romantic thriller of around 80,000 words.

What a shame this writer seems to have left Autho. His book seems most original so I will read anyway and hope he returns. Tonia ~Strange Bodies~ A Futuristic Murder Mystery view book
