about me

I currently have three books posted on Authonomy that I continue to edit as time permitts. Donna 632 and Partners. Both books have the same two main characters and the conflict of how a new race would be treated by all other people.

I am a member of Pittsburgh Writers Meetup.

Partners

Richard McStay

A mistake filling out a job application leads John Buchanan to a new life and the downfall of a corrupt government.

Partners are grown to work for us and everyone knows they are only machines. Much like any other appliance, like a car, or a stove, people form some attachment to them. However, we don’t love them like a person, or even a pet; that would be dumb. They may look like people and come in all races, but they are only machines. John Buchanan thought of partners like everyone else, until a mistake on a job application brought Donna 632 into his life.

Donna 632

Richard McStay

Donna 632 was grown at the partners USA factory long before the government began inplanting citizens and passing them off as partners.

Like every good idea, genetic duplication technology went astray. It became more profitable to grow whole bodies, instead of specific parts like hearts or lungs. Partner Corp began selling whole bodies with mind controls as machines. Donna 632 was grown at the Partners California factory long before a government contractor began implanting citizens and passing them off as partners. She was grown in a tank, but her father/owner eliminated the mind control all other partners had to make them follow orders.

Most would say that John was just a pawn to cover for Donna’s secrete. She wasn’t really Jack Hughes’ mechanical division director, but intelligent enough to spot his potential. He wouldn’t have thought he would even like a partner, let alone love one. His love is tested when she is horribly burned. This is further complicated when a woman leaves two little girls with them for protection from their pedophile father. Just when all seems to be coming together, they find their selves involved in helping enslaved citizens and the father kidnaps their girls.

Captivating first chapter. I plan to read more of this interesting story. One word needs fixed. Near the end of chapter one. 'Madeline had to consider her instead of his. Otherwise a well crafted first chapter. Rich McStay view book
