about me

Married with 2 children - daughter & son combo so have experience of both sexes! Okay, technically they're now adults but we parents know our kids never grow up, don't we?

I'm a voracious reader of all genres but my usual preferences tend to be fantasy and crime thriller. Recently uploaded the first few chapters of my teenage SF novel having spent the past 18 months nurturing and torturing it into being! Hopefully, you'll enjoy the outcome. If you want to read more, please back me & let me know . . . further chapters available and coming soon.

Happy reading and/or writing, colleagues!

favourite books

Absolutely EVERYTHING by Terry Pratchett - he's my hero!
The Eight: Katherine Neville - beautifully crafted
The Hobbit & LOTR: JRRTolkien
The Belgariad/Mallorean series + others: David Eddings
The Chronicles of Thomas Convenant: Stephen Donaldson
The Warlord Chronicles: Bernard Cornwell
The Pendragon Cycle: Stephen Lawhead
Mists of Avalon: Marion Zimmer Bradley
Well - I did say I like fantasy! And anything relating to the Arthurian legends.
Also enjoy Lee Child, Mark Billingham, C J Sansom, Jonathan Kellerman, Patricia Cornwell, Jeffrey Deaver
The list is endless but better stop now before we run out of webspace!

Walk to Paradise Garden immediately establishes the sense of place and time. Having had an uncle serving in the Red Cross during the war the opening felt especially poignant and I could really 'see', 'hear' and 'smell' the scene from the vivid writing. Good luck Nigel. view book

Love the opening and will definitely be coming back for more. Thanks for your support too, Lynn. All the best and looking forward to seeing your novel in hard print on Waterstones' shelves. Sal Michaels 'Two of a Mind' view book
