about me

UPDATED NOTE Sorry I haven't been active on the website for the last couple of months, had a pretty rough time of it recently, I won't go into detail.

I have, in the last few days, finalised a website I was putting together. It would be really appreciated if you could have a look at my new website and comment on / give ideas to improve, maybe even give details of your websites. I'm no web designer, but put together myself quite proud of it but realise it is no-where near brilliant. To access please go to:

The edit of chapter 1, 2 and 3 are now available to view.

Hi.

My name is Graham Holbrook, from the North West of England and currently working as a grocery buyer in the North East of it.

The book I have posted was initially meant to be a short story for my two year old daughter. I thought it would be nice to do something special for her. I've always enjoyed writing, I am genuinely not an avid reader and this might show, preferring fantasy on a more visual level.

It soon became apparent that the short story was becoming a book. I had always thought about writing about a book, ever since my teens, but maturity, or at least the opportunity had never presented itself. So it was that ideas that had flowed around my head for a good long while were now flowing freely onto the page and 'The Wizard of Crescent Moon Mountain' was born.

Excellent prologue, sets the story up and stokes the imagination of the reader for what is to come. The first chapter is wild, fun and evocative. I imagine short stories playing out throughout. James, from Home James, is obviously open to being 'led'. The sexual tension between James' innocent a... view book

Your book captures the brutality in acceptance of fate perfectly. Walter's almost nonchalant regard for his fathers dead body, highlighted when Walter pulls him down the steps of the house and then goes for breakfast, is sickening and heartbreaking. Agree that there is a Crazies slant but shouldn'... view book

Hi Cyndi Amazing, the first few paragraphs draw you in, the description is exquisite throughout the first chapter, the pace flows to a tee. The awkwardness of Lindsey as Ravi says I love you reminds me of past experiences, when my love is not reciprocated to the other. Descending into calm, Joe... view book

Wow! As a lover of zombie films this really hits the mark. You've managed to turn the whole genre on its head without losing the essence of a zombie. Fred is an instantly absorbing sort of zombie. To have a 'thinker' navigating the story is very clever and ultimately original. Add a dose of bla... view book

Enjoyed the prologue, the last stand played out through Adras and Logos, who are ultimately doomed, is very well done and prompted me to read the second chapter (not often I do that). The 'frankenstein-esque' monster which is unleashed on the planet kept me reading with intrigue. I love the fact t... view book
