about me

I have 22 years of life behind me, and 21 of them were spent reading! My profession is teaching design & technology, but my passion is reading and writing. I make no claim to being an intellectual superior - I simply love getting to play out my characters' lives. Constructive criticism is fabulous. Please comment on my book(s) if you read any chapters - I appreciate honesty and will reciprocate regardless of how much criticism you may have.

Update: I have a long watchlist and I go on holiday in three days, so I apologise if I'm slow. I love to swap reads though and always reciprocate even if it takes me a while.

I'm Not That Girl

Ellie Winters

Alone with her bogeyman, Eleanor fights against being used as a tool against magic. A tool to influence Spain's vengeful president - her father.

Three years ago teenage sisters Eleanor and Maria Portillo Blanco were taken - stolen by a demon intent on making a bloody and violent point to their father, a rising force in Spanish politics. Only Elle made it out of that encounter alive.

Now Salvador is the President of Spain, and the target on his remaining daughter's back just grew tenfold. When the grief stricken leader begins to take vengeance through political means on the supernatural menances that ruined him, he risks igniting a war - and his witch loving daughter is the first prisoner the enemy takes.

Trapped in a house with only her bogeyman for company, Elle has to find a way to master her own emotions, to avoid harm, and to somehow help her father - but matters are complicated when she realises that she and the demon ultimately aspire to the same goal...

Oh, this is utterly brilliant! Such a touching, sweet story, and told with such love and such powerful imagery and memory. I would love to give you a ream of advice and things to work on, but I wouldn't change a thing. It's absolutely lovely, and thank you for sharing it with us. Enthusiastically b... view book

You have plenty of comments about the start, so I'm going to comment on what I see as I flick through. Chapter 10 was perhaps a shade too short, and I'm not sure about the formatting of the list, or even, indeed, using a list at all in this context. I would tend only to use them when literally showi... view book

Hello! You convey the harsh reality of your subject matter brilliantly - there's certainly no dumbing down or glamourising here, and for that I'm grateful. Good characters, and the atmosphere you develop within your POVs is great. I would look at the prose. Some of the paragraphs are so long tha... view book

I absolutely love the style you've gone for here, with the internal dialogue rather than an external commentary. You get into the minds of your characters brilliantly, and this is unique and detailed enough to hold my attention well. However... my attention lasts right up to the point where y... view book

I LOVE the pitch and I love the idea of the story. The "death" in the first Kali chunk was a really nice read too. I love your characters, your prose is mostly clean, and I'm impressed by the thought you put into it. I really look forward to seeing more when you progress! I'm not sure how I feel ... view book
