I grew up in northern Maine passing the time exploring the woodland frontier and picking my uncle’s potatoes at fifty cents a barrel. During my childhood visiting family in Florida, I witnessed a Space Shuttle launch, inspiring me to explore the frontier of space. As I grew older, my interests in space and science conflicted with a natural ability to tell fanciful stories to friends and family. Ultimately, I developed an aptitude for math and science. By the end of high school, I was ready to study engineering but was not ready to pay for college.

Enlisting into the United States Marine Corps created quite a shock for the family, especially volunteering for infantry. Who wants a desk job? I wanted to run through the jungle with an M60 strapped to my back. A shout out to all the 0331's out there! As a Marine, I stomped around the world, exposed to many cultures. After four years of fun and service to my country, I departed the Corps armed with discipline, a lifetime of memories, and military scholarship.

My higher education began at the University of Central Florida near Kennedy Space Center, the heart of the American space program. After graduating with an Aerospace Engineering degree, my patriotism continued as a civil servant in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Those storytelling skills from my youth, suppressed but not forgotten, awoke when I left the Marine Corps for college life. Ever since, my spare time carves out the pages of an epic and supernatural story expressing a fascination with mythology and theology. The first two novels in this effort are in the editing loop. Tell me what you think. I am always striving to improve my style.

Work, writing, and an active social life spent with friends and family continuously compete for my time. Hence, I don’t sleep, but I wouldn’t want it any other way!

Dawn of Resurgence

Ryan Holmes

To destroy the Miami Syndicate, Jacob Dillon must control the Gift of Creation awakening within while evading an ancient underworld hunting him down.

Jacob Dillon believes he is just the newest partner of a Miami architecture firm, a former Marine like his father, and a loving family man. Samuel Knight believes he is the first immortal to Awaken in an age and the heir of the Syndicate, his father’s globalized crime organization. Neither knows the truth of who they are nor how their destinies are connected.
Sent to improve Syndicate operations in Miami, Samuel makes a public example of a two-bit dealer. The ensuing rundown leaves a swelling body count in its wake. Bloodshed spills into Jacob's world awakening within access to the forces of Creation, but gripping this power is like gripping water. He must control it if he hopes to destroy Knight and the Syndicate protecting him.
Only, his Awakening attracts an ancient underworld teeming with the immortal Amaranth, their impure Djinn cousins, and the humans allying with them. All seek to possess him for their own ends. His only help is a hand tied detective and a vision of death returned from his past. Nothing will stop him from tearing down the Syndicate. Nothing except perhaps his own self-destruction.

Kate Jack's writing leads the readers through the story without them ever realizing they're turning pages. Be prepared for lapses in time as Kate places you on the streets, chasing after Jeremiah Tully as if the story is real. This is excellent writing from a highly educated author. This is a well written story. Read four chapters in my first sitting. It read effortlessly with a feel of a published piece. I could find no fault with it. It's an interesting plot and worthy of my bookshelf. Rated highly, good luck with it. view book

Excellent short and long pitch. Do you contract out? Plus, I absolutely loved your introduction. Thank you! Backed and the only time I've given a six star rating. Well deserved, by all the authors! view book

EM, you do a great job creating an underdog character the reader can truly feel sorry for and at the same time slap their forehead every time Phil makes his situation worse. Very entertaining and well written. Reshuffling my shelf and adding One Wrong Turn. Good luck with the story and tell Phil ... view book
