about me

I'm a 20 year old university student currently in my third and final year of studying BA in Legal Theory and Philosophy. I'm way shorter than most people I know, and apparently look younger than 16.

I have been told by numerous different people - including my own father - that I am a nutjob. I find this title hard to disprove. I'm synaesthetic (not synthetic. There is a difference), slightly OCD and have an annoyingly good memory for quotes. I also seem to have picked up a terrible habit of saying 'dude' a lot, the result of which people think I'm some sort of stoner surfer. Considering I have never taken/smoked any kind of drug and would probably drown myself if I tried to surf, I've decided to make a concerted attempt not to say dude.

BUT enough about me; time to plug my novel.
My current work in progress is The Hunt for Taylor Mason. The character of Taylor Mason walked into my head one night and simply demanded that I find a story for him (I was in the shower at the time. It was quite a shock). So far, this is the best I've managed to find for him. He seems pleased with it so far, although he and my protagonist Dominic have very different ideas of how the plot should go. I constantly hear their voices arguing in my head.

...I should probably get that checked out.

PS: Thank you to those of you who commented on my novel "Olympus High". I've taken it down for the moment in the hope of rewriting and editing it (seeing as I wrote it in Grade 10).

The Hunt for Taylor Mason

T. K. Waterworth

Taylor Mason - a murderer. A storyteller. A man who can exist outside of time; a man who is untraceable to the point of non-existence.

"I am nothing more than a frightened storyteller in a desperate race to save the ancient stories from an insane murderer. But what this murderer doesn't know is that I am following him. I am closer than he realises. And one day soon I will hunt him down and make him regret what he's done."

As the only witness to a gruesome murder, university student Dominic Walters is drawn into a world more complex and mysterious than he could ever imagine. Lead deeper by the strange and compelling serial killer Taylor Mason, Dominic begins to realise that not everything is as it seems...and that sometimes you have to read between the lines to find the truth.

I found your story hard to follow, but I love your style of writing. It's not quite poetry, not rap, not "spoken word", but the occasional natural rhymes and alliteration in your prose is so unusual. I did notice one or two minor grammar mistakes - mostly with regard to tense - but my computer won't... view book

This made me smile :) I love the way your MC is so...cheeky, I suppose, although that doesn't seem to be the correct description. When I think of a better word, I'll post it. In the mean time, I'm enjoying this and will be back to read more! view book

Wow. I started reading chapter 1 and was immediately drawn into a world I've never known. I don't have time to read more, but I'll be back as soon as I do and I will leave a more detailed comment once I'm further into the story :) Tayla The Hunt for Taylor Mason view book

This is a gripping story. It's rare to find a novel set in Africa! I've heard so much about Kenya; I'm South African but my grandparents lived in Kenya for a long time and my mom was born there. I'll be returning to read more as soon as I have time, and I'll definitely be backing it :) Tayla The... view book
