about me

Brad Berkowitz is the author of the 21st Century Guide to Bachelorhood. He is currently working on two more manuscripts. The first is called Down, But Not Out: The Iran Barkley Story, the story of the former 3 time world champion's rise from gang life to the world title and his fall back into the South Bronx. The third will be a science fiction thriller about what can happen when a US president makes a good-intentioned decision to end world war and the ramifications of that decision.

3-time world champ Iran Barkley rose from the streets to be world champ, only to lose it all. Read his inspiring story.

Iran Barkley didn’t grow up with a silver spoon in his mouth. He grew up in the 1970s in the South Bronx where coming home from school was a matter of survival and walking to the corner store for a carton of milk was an adventure. Drug dealers, gangs, pimps, prostitutes and convicted felons were his neighbors, his home and family his only solace.
How did a man growing up in such circumstances go on to win three world championships, befriend so many celebrities and earn millions in the ring? Then how did he lose all of his money, most of his family, and much of his celebrity? What led such an accomplished boxer to the verge of suicide and what was it that saved his life?
Iran Barkley is an inspiration and mentor not only to young professional boxers, but to all people who are down on their luck and need to reinvent themselves. While he is now as financially-challenged as he was when he was a child, Barkley has dedicated the rest of his life to helping others. Barkley is Down, But Not Out.

A humorous look at the way guys view dating and relationships.

The book analyzes dating and relationships from a male point of view. Learn about the different stages of a guy’s life after college, and why a guy’s social life gets better every year, while a girl’s social life usually doesn’t. Areas covered in this humorous but practical guide: The chronological anatomy of a relationship, pitfalls and areas where a relationship can end; when to introduce her to your friends; why blind dates are frequently a waste of your time; what a guy is thinking when he is planning the date, what he is thinking when he finally meets the girl, and how he is already mapping out his escape as soon as they meet.

Find out why guys ask for girls’ phone numbers and never call them, why it is more important to men than women to have attractive spouses, why men sleep with women and then want to go home, why men dislike shopping, why men like to date easy girls yet marry “nice” girls, and why only unattractive women ask guys out.

That's awesome! My book is being made into a screenplay as well. Actually both of mine. That's why I haven't been here in a while. Since you haven’t been to Authonomy for a while, I hope it’s okay that I’m sending this through your book comment: I’d like to thank you for backing BRAINRUSH... view book

I noticed this book because I have written a book about something similar, a despondent boxer who lost everything. The feelings both he and Alex had were similar. Alex had a terrible childhood and an abusive boyfriend. My book is different in that the character went from poverty to riches and back d... view book

I have backed this since the premise sounds very interesting. A sneak peak into a different world of money, affluence and power. I will then watchlist it until I can start reading more next week. Backed. view book

Its a tough life when you can't love who your heart chooses, but are forced to love somebody chosen for you. The pain of the lovers is obvious. The book well written. The characters believable. I am enjoying this read. view book
