about me

I am a senior lecturer at the University of East London (the School of Psychology) and a counsellor in private practice. I am also a co-founder of the Personal Well Being Centre (see the first website). I have published numerous academic papers and two non-fiction books: ‘Personal Synthesis’ in the field of popular psychology and ‘The Synthesis’, which is an attempt to build a bridge between science and spirituality (see the other web-site). ‘Threesome’ is my first venture into the world of fiction. I have a keen professional and personal interest in alternative types of intimate relationships, and the novel reflects this interest. My e-mail is n_popovic@hotmail.com

Threesome

Nash Popovic

Three people, from different ethnic backgrounds, fall in love with each other. Can such a relationship survive in a world designed for couples?

'Threesome' has a deliberately provocative title and some sex scenes, but it is not lascivious. It is really a love story, examining a three way relationship. What are the pitfalls and what are the possible advantages of having two partners rather than one? Can three people love each other without jealousy? How would others, including the parents, react to it? Will a child who has 'two mums' grow up well? What happens when a tragedy strikes? Since the narrator is an immigrant, the novel is written in a simple but witty language.

The Synthesis

Nash Popovic

Can we have a rational answer to the question ‘What is the meaning of life’? Find out.

Three social forces seem to be gaining momentum at present: religious fundamentalism among the affluent (who believe that it can help them preserve their status), religious fundamentalism among the deprived (who believe that it can help them change theirs) and secular relativism (predominantly among those occupying the middle ground). What all of them have in common is self-centeredness and self-interest, which is not conducive to developing a global society. This book offers an alternative outlook, based on a shared purpose that could have a unifying power. Our choice at the moment is to live either in a rational but meaningless world, or in a meaningful but irrational world. The Synthesis is an attempt to see the world as both, rational and meaningful. Common sense, science, spirituality and philosophy are combined in a unique way to achieve this aim. For forther information please visit www.thesynthesis.info

Gritty, tough and yet deeply emotional. A good, well written book that one wants to read to the end and wishes that it ends well despite the odds. view book

One of those exciting, well research novel that draw you in even if you are not into this particular genre. The dialogue is sometime a bit stiff but otherwise the narrative flows smoothly. Backed. view book

This is very fine piece of work. Pleasure to read even if one is not into this type of literature. On occasion, it is in danger of perhaps slipping into sentimentality, but could be just me, living in more cynical age. Backed for warmth that its reading produces. Nash (Threesome) view book
