about me

**UPDATE: I HAVE SIGNED A BOOK DEAL AND HAVE ANOTHER OFFER ON THE TABLE FOR MY NEXT ONE. NEEDLESS TO SAY, HARPERCOLLINS READING MY STUFF IS NO LONGER OF ANY IMPORTANCE TO ME. DUE TO MY OBLIGATIONS, I WILL NOT BE BACKING OR READING ANYTHING ON HERE, SO DON'T ASK. I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR IT.**

My name is Brandon Tietz. I'm the author of "Out of Touch" and the upcoming anthology, "Vanity." I serve as a moderator in the Chuck Palahniuk Writer's Workshop and am a featured author on Lobster Cult Magazine, an online publication based out of the UK for up-and-coming authors. In January, 2010, I made finalist for Chuck Palahniuk's anthology project with my short, "Diamonds." I attended the University of Kansas and now live in Kansas City.

Get thin. Be pretty. Die perfect. "Vanity" is the ultimate highlight reel to everyone's favorite sin.

Brandon Tietz, author of "Out of Touch" and Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club, Choke) anthology finalist serves up a disgustingly beautiful dish in twenty-one flavors. Dietary - Miss Miranda Pritchard has tried every diet there is, from cheese cubes to bulimia--and all have failed. But when she gets the invite to wear the crown again at the Royalty Court of the Decade ceremony, Miss Pritchard puts her life on the line to fit into a size zero one last time. Gourmet - At some point this stopped being about food. Gordon R. Straub is finding that out the hard way during his interview with Chef Tairy Livingston of the exclusive Artisan restaurant, a place where flavor is secondary to a pheasant's marital history or the literary upbringing of a chicken. Signs - As chairwoman of the homeowner's association, Kitty Welshire knows better than anyone that appearances are everything, but when her husband, Monty, begins moonlighting as panhandler to keep up with his wife's spending habits, it's only a matter of time before the rest of the neighborhood gets a whiff of the scandal. And much more...

I've read the entire thing and it has all the qualities I like in a story: funny, quick-paced, with a clever plot. Things really picked up for me when the game of Klondike was introduced...it was like a brutal chess match where ears are sacrificed instead of pawns. SHELVED! view book

I'm not able to figure out how this book merits such high acclaim on here, so I guess I'm the voice of descent. First things first: none of this material is original. Even personal anecdotes are like watered down Tucker Max, and that's saying something because I hate Tucker Max. We've seen this... view book
