"When I’d thought to search for him, I didn’t think I’d end up at a dead end.
I didn’t think I’d end up dead."
When Dyllan Carter shipped off to London to start a Master's in Medieval Literature, she expected to spend a lot of time in the library, write a lot of papers, and develop acute tendinitis before she finishes her thesis on the separation of Merlin the myth versus Merlin the man.
What she didn't expect was Emrys. After their initial crash-meeting in the tunnels of the underground, she keeps bumping into him: in the library, at her favorite cafe and on the street. He knows almost as much as she does about her subject area, and he's not even in school. His actions are sometimes awkward, and very out-of-the-blue - sometimes to the level of absurdity.
So when he offers to give her a tour of the old places in Wales - not far from his home - she can't help but wonder who fate has brought her. As they get closer and closer to the heart and home of the legends, Dyllan finds herself torn between her personal quest of finding the real Merlin and helping Emrys complete whatever is compelling his strange demeanor and persistence towards his brother's life and goals.
