about me

UPDATE: My book is now here: http://www.abloggersbooks.com/

I'm a freelance writer. I also work as a television supporting artist with shows like Dr Who, Torchwood, Skins and Casualty. In the past, I have been a stage actress and model and even a missionary in my home country of Guyana in South America, and have also had my own call-in radio show.

I now live in Bristol with my husband - a sociologist and published academic writer, and our three young children, but I’ve lived in Paris, London, Alabama and finally Cork City, Ireland where we remained for 6 and a half years. I am also in the process of writing a follow up book to “Sunday’s Child,” called “Fair of Face.”

I’ve had tremendous success publishing popular psychology, and self-healing type articles on the internet and as a separate project, am currently looking to get these works published in book form.

When I'm taking a break from writing my second book, I do freelance writing for two online women's magazines and other web content sites.

I've had a couple of fictional short stories published, and have also written two for an anthology with Authonomy's 'Absolution.'
I am a member of the Writers Bureau, and also manage two blogs.

AUTHOR'S NOTE FOR SUNDAY'S CHILD

To give Sunday’s Child the gift of dialogue, I condensed the things the people around me said over the years. I then used their personalities, the way they spoke, and the tones they used to give them words to ‘speak’ in my story. This is very much like the way you relate the things your mother used to say to other people. You can remember the manner in which she used her hands to speak, the phrases she revisited, and even her tone of voice.
I tried to recreate, to the best of my human ability, the speech patterns and the words for the people included in Sunday’s Child.

I started reading this, and yes! I've read it before and loved it. I can't find my comment here on the front page, so it's probably on page 2 or 3. I'm sure I've backed it before, but just to be sure, I'll give it a swing on my shelf again. Good luck with this. best anne view book

So, I know this is young adult fiction, but it's gripping enough for adults like me who don't wanna grow up, to find intriguing. I like how the action scenes are written. They're like a liquid movie rolling off the page. The dragon hiccoughed, the crumbs were offered, it sniffed them, then began ... view book

Ahhhhh... having lived in Cork for nearly seven years, this takes me back to a place I now see as home for me and my family. I love an Irish story. And one told so well deserves a place on my shelf. I can actually see the cook wiping her hands on her apron. Very well done indeed! I do apprecia... view book

How lovely to see you on here again. I've put your book on my shelf again. I remember the brilliant writing from the last time. This certainly does not let you down. The way this first chapter built up and ended is a certain page turner. I think that this is what it takes to get published. Tha... view book
