about me

Samael is a dark romance with a psychological twist, aimed at a YA readership. It has now been extensively rewritten and will soon be resubmitted to several editors who have expressed interest.

The book is the first in the Angelsoul trilogy. Tanit is the sequel (set in London). The third book will be set predominantly in the USA.

Samael

Jane Alexander

A girl, a demon and a mage. A curse, a choice. Heaven and hell aren’t always so easy to tell apart.

Genevieve Hunter always felt she was different.
She is.
Zeke Smith thinks that true love conquers all.
He’s wrong.
Sarah Keeper worries that something terrible is going to be unleashed in Shadowcombe.
It is.

Genevieve arrives in the remote village of Shadowcombe hoping to build bridges with her alcoholic mother. But Shadowcombe has a secret – one that binds, not just Genevieve, but all her family back through generations.

If the pact is broken, the consequences will be beyond Gen’s worst nightmares.

Some loves just aren’t meant to happen. There’s a very thin line between love and hate. Between angels and demons. Between heaven and hell.

I've read the whole manuscript and truly this is a fabulous story, just begging to be published. It is BRIMFUL of ideas and has the most scintillating cast of characters. It's a novel about identity - about ego and about boundaries (between parts of ourselves; between ourselves and others; between... view book

Hi hon, here as promised. Now I don't read chicklit or romance very much so take anything I say with a huge pinch of salt. Also am just a reader, not any kind of editor... Chapter One: I like that we're in Adam's POV - makes a change. Nice breezy style - cracks along and chapters are short a... view book

Here at last, Bee. Remember, just my thoughts as a reader...nothing more. I'm always entranced by the idea of books taking people to other places and times and the Babylonian connection interested me immediately. Chapter One: I felt you tried to cram too much into this chapter. There were so ... view book

Oh by heck, KA....but this is gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS!!! I only meant to take a swift peek but I read five chapters without pause and am only pausing to chuck down some thoughts before I go back and finish. What does this remind me of? What is it? It's sort of Susan Cooper and George McDona... view book

Here as promised. You can certainly write and write very well though I didn't entirely buy the YA voice on this... it didn't quite chime teenager to me. There was quite a lot of info dump at the beginning too. Love the premise but do wonder if we need some little inkling of the supernatural flavo... view book
