I'm 43 years old. I live in the Blue Mountains and work tutoring Indigenous students in academic skilling. I love reading YA novels, Agatha Christie and Sci-fi. I also love writing (when I can find the time). My dream, like so many others, is to become a published author and actually make a living from it.

Alex Smithers

Planet Earth has many secrets. Hidden within her skies, oceans and lands are different human species, some good and some evil.

One hundred and fifty thousand years ago human evolution took an interesting turn. Today, the Earth is dominated by Agrariens, unaware that other human species live in the shadows. But the time for hiding is at an end. The ghostly Aethiens want to rule the world and they have a plan. Only a hybrid boy named James Gaffey and a sky-dwelling girl named Aureole have the ability to save the planet, but first they must overcome their differences and work together. The whole planet is relying on them.

Hi Julia, so far I've read your pitches and the first two chapters and I'm loving it. They are short and snappy, which is great for a children's / YA novel. The pitches are well written and intriguing. The cliff hangers at the end really do make the reader want to turn the next page and find out ... view book

Hi Ian, I just read the first three chapters of your book, and I have to agree with the others, it does remind me of Douglas Adams, but that's a good thing since most agents and publishers ask for books already published that are similar. Your dialog is very smooth and I like all of the character... view book

Hi Warrick, I have read the first two chapters of your book and am very intrigued. I think the idea of an animal as a minority group in the work place is excellent. You have a great sense of humour and I found the text very witty. In my opinion, some of your sentences are a little wordy and co... view book

Hi Ophelia, I have read the pitch, the prologue and chapter one. All of them are excellent. I was immediately drawn in by your pitch, and the prologue intrigued me so much that I had to read on. You write very well and the text flows very smoothly. One sentence that I thought was a bit confusi... view book

Hi Scott, Sorry, I have only had time to read the first chapter so far. Your pitch was very intriguing and definitely made me want to read the book. I love the imagery of the underwater world that you create, but I have to agree with PeeJay about the wordiness and needing to add some more action.... view book
