about me

Tuesday's Child is the Runner Up in the Teen Division of the 2011 Beach Book Festival, and received Honorable Mention in the 2011 Hollywood Book Festival.

I also had a great time at Book Expo America! Tuesday's Child is now in the hands of: book buyers, schools, other publishers, and an assortment of libraries including the NYC Public Library.

A word of caution to all writers in the making...you know you are writers. Don't let the elitism of others destroy your dreams. Grab hold of those reins, even if that pony takes you for a drag before it lets you in the saddle.

Tuesday's Child is 95000 word novel. Designed to be an easy but thoughtful read for young adults, its main audience to-date has been adults.

ISBN-13: 978-1-935905-09-7
Available @ Amazon.com, BarnesandNobel.com, Long Island Book Stores, my website (autographed copies), and can be ordered from any bookstore. Ebook will be available in the next few weeks.

If you're in the Massachusetts area, check out the calendar of events on my website...I'd love to meet you.

Carolyn Gibbs

Not all teens on the street are runaways...some are throwaways.

Lane Harris should be the heir to the family fortune. Too bad she’s nothing more than a pawn in a game of money and power. Brutalized, left to die, and unaware of her attacker’s identity, she wakes in a Seattle hospital and begins a cycle of flight designed to do nothing more than keep her alive.

On-the-job training for life on the streets includes rolling drunks and eating cat food. And witnessing a murder that puts her in the direct line of fire. Her decision is immediate. Flight. But only one place remains: home. Braving the wilds of the Washington Peninsula, Lane will fight tooth and nail to survive. And to reclaim her humanity.

Thanx for the input! Tuesday's Child underwent a full edit and was published in March 2011. We were at Book Expo America in May, and just recently were announced the Runner Up in the 2011 Beach Book Festival! view book

The writing is good, the set up realistic, and the POV changes are clever. Those same POV changes are my only concern. Within the 'chapters' you've got multiple POVs forcing your reader to hop between 'heads'...that can be labor intensive even with the sections labeled according to POV. I wonder if ... view book

I hate to say this, but I'm lost. I'm going to remind you that with 223 comments, you hardly need my input, so I think I'll just chalk it up to my chosen genre...I write YA. I'm fond of straight forward and easy. I hate to work and I don't like to decipher meanings. I do like 'in your face' though, ... view book
