If Beth were to be stranded on a desert island right up there on her list of requests (along with a Man Friday to fan her when he wasn’t doing the whole hunter-gatherer thing) would be a solar powered laptop. From a very young age, when she wasn’t climbing trees and building dens, she was scribbling on a piece of paper. Her first short story was accepted for publication when she was sixteen. She figured that getting a book published was a piece of cake, wrote her first novel by the time she was nineteen, then learned the hard way that publishers weren’t lining up to offer her a deal. The need to write combined with a liberal sprinkling of bloody mindedness kept her pestering away and she had her first publishing deal in her mid-twenties with several ‘shelved’ novels collecting dust in a corner.

I always hesitate when people ask what my favourite books are since other people's favourite books always seem far more intellecutal than mine! I'm currently reading Alison Weir's, 'The Lady Elizabeth' which is nice to slump into a hot tub with at the end of the day (not that I own a hot tub, just a tub which is filled from the hot tap).

But as they become increasingly settled figures from their past catch up with them threatening to ruin their happinness. Kate's path becomes dark and menacing as she faces her demons whilst Alana is shattered by the revelation of what might have been. Each woman must achieve her own resolution before the old chapter of their lives can be closed and together they can embrace the new.

I was fascinated to read that you have dyslexia since I work in this field and most of my students dislike putting pen to paper. Your first chapter shows all of the strengths typically associated with dyslexia - high levels of creativity, imagination, the ability to think outside the box, etc. ... view book

I love books that bowl along right from the opening page and this does just that. I've got a fairly poor memory and found it difficult to keep up with the switches and so would have preferred to stay with each scene change for a slightly longer amount of time. Good stuff though. view book
