about me

I'm an author and a teacher, and I live in a small mountain village in the south of Spain, together with my family and two dogs. Here I write anything that comes into my head, weaving together stories full of mystery and suspense. My latest book, Sallowed Blood, has just been published as an e-book and is available from amazon.co.uk. 'The Pawnbroker' will be available for Christmas. On a weekend, when I have a moment or two, I can be found cruising along the coast on my new motorbike.

The Sandman Cometh

Glenn Stuart

Imagine a world with no adults...bliss, or sheer hell? Simeon has memories...and that means he's dangerous!

In a cold, bleak, insensitive future world, Simeon Allis lives out his controlled life, alone. There is no need for families in his world; everything is provided for by the State. And the Sandmen ensure conformity. The Sandmen are hideous inventions, created to ensure conformity from the citizens of this new, clinical world. Monstrous killing machines, they enact terrible punishments upon anyone found wandering outside of their homes after curfew. Nightmare visions that haunt the waking and sleeping hours of Simeon’s, and everyone else’s, life. During the day, brutal ‘re-programmed’ military-style police, called Sweepers, keep everyone in check. This is a world where individuality and choice have no place. But Simeon is different to most others. He has memories. These memories, of a past life that has now been ‘replaced’, make him begin to question everything he sees, hears and knows.

Hi Ron, nice idea. I enjoy thrillers, and they tend to dominate my 'real' book shelves! I liked the pitch, which drew me in, and the story starts well. I would have liked a little more reaction to finding the body in the bath. Imagine that! I'm not sure how I would react but, as writers, that is wha... view book

I liked this story. It moves along very well and has a good feel to it. I especially liked the hisotrical references to other conflicts, not so much as to be distracting but enough to know that here is a writer who knows their stuff! Well done, and I will dertainly take some time to read the rest. I... view book

A lovely, refreshing tale, packed with realism that slowly draws you in. Not usually my sort of thing, but I found myself enjoying it despite myself! It reminds me of those wonderfully innocent British films from the 1940s and 50s. There's an earthy quality about them, gritty without being obscene. ... view book
