about me

Hello. Please visit my poetry website at www.wix.com/karinaevans/words

I have approximately seventy thousand personas, all of whom took as long to hone to perfection as the seventy thousand volcanic words I have recently accomplished. All the personas carry out very important tasks within my life. One of them goes out to work every day, another works hard to raise children with morals and without penchants for rioting or looting. The others write stories, poetry, a whole novel (that one is very proud), satire and a blog. Another is a prolific tweeter (@inactive_rebel). Scattered randomly amongst the aforementioned are a passionate music lover, a crazy person and a frustrated, inactive rebel.

Feel free to message me and request I read your offerings; please DO NOT spam me, suggest a back-for-back, or any other irritating filthy play. If I want to back your book, then I will. If you want to back mine, I'm sure you will. Trying to rise to the top of the Authonomy charts based on pseudo-popularity and/or mutual back-scratching defeats the entire object of the site, and defines exactly where creativity ends and wankers begin. Rant over.

Oh, and now NEW AND IMPROVED, like a very amazing washing-up liquid. Recently edited, hopefully to perfection. Any feedback, positive or negative, much appreciated.

Have you ever loved someone from such a depth within your soul, that even destruction couldn't tear you apart?

Eloise Bennett, the devoted mother of Jessica and Joseph, dies after falling down the stairs at her home. On the face of it, Eloise leads an unenviable life: her husband Paul is a violent bully and her mother, Sandra, a control freak. Eloise and her children have suffered at their uncompromising hands for many years, yet are seemingly powerless to escape. As love turns to dependence and dependence turns to hate, the family members reflect on their lives and the events leading to Eloise’s death. Was Eloise's death a tragic accident? Or is Paul guilty as charged?

Live. Love. Leave. Life. Death.

A story of vulnerability in even the most hardened of hearts.

Due to time constraints, I have only managed to read about half of the first chapter. However, what I have read is impressive. Your characters have strong voices, and your scenes are beautifully set. My only suggestion would be to make Geoffrey a little more 'rounded' as at the moment he is the seem... view book

I absolutely love poetry, particularly when it comes from the soul, as this does. The English isn't perfect, as you explained it is not your first language, yet in my opinion it serves to add a perspective of vulnerability. Good stuff. view book

I was thoroughly enjoying reading this until I reached the parts with dialogue. Without punctuation, the beautiful flow of the story thus far is sadly brought to a stuttering halt. I am really sorry, but I could not read on past this. On a very positive note; up until that part I was really enjoying... view book

I read through chapter one and part of chapter two. In all honesty, I found chapter one a little 'passive' to be a chapter, and thought that it might be better suited as a prologue. Well-written and descriptive. Backed. view book

Well... what can I say? It is, arguably, the most intellectually superior work I have ever attempted to read. However, it made me feel a little stupid as I just didn't get it! Nobody can say that you aren't a good writer, and clearly a very clever man, but it left me cold. Sorry. Backed on basis of ... view book
