about me
I am twenty-something years old and I'm just a small town librarian that happened to stumble upon this site after a patron suggested it to me.
I had been hovering around reading for almost six months before i registered on this site. I did not really feel motivated to make an account because I did not see the point.
However, I have begun to notice that the "stuff" I am forced to shelf here is not as good as some of the books I have read on this site.
The only thing selling them is an eye-catching cover and a compelling synopsis. The publishers are publishing what will sell. I get that. I don't have to like it.
I decided that maybe my small vote will help get the good ones published. Books I would like to proudly place on our shelves.
The books I put on my shelf do not have to be perfect.
As I have "hovered" these many months, I have seen very "raw" manuscripts evolve into masterpieces.
The books I put on my "virtual" shelf here will be ones that in my opinion have a story to tell that I think needs to be told. Stories with heart and great imagination. From authors that show "potential" and seem willing to grow.
Happy writing! I know that I have been enjoying your hard work!
Karen
Note after being a registered member for a little over a year: You people, although quite talented, really enjoy your drama and backstabbing. It is well that I enjoy reading books then, I suppose.
