Commences

Susannah J. Bell

A universe has ended. Can another begin? Will it encroach on ours? Are we doomed?

In the Fleet universe, individualistic beings create games or casts, never interacting, never remembering their last cast. But when Fleet space collapses, all the rules are violated. Through broken casts, across space flaming with a spacial dissociation, 58 searches fruitlessly for her lost lover, 410, a time strategist.
The search is violent and confusing, the landscapes surreal and nightmarish as she loops through time and space. She is forced "outside" to find the origin of the spacial dissociation, the cause of the collapse. Who destroyed Fleet space? Was it 410?
Everyone wants a piece of 410: Fleet personnel 58 is in love with him. The twisted 2 is hungry for him. The Unknown knows him. But the 96 remaining Fleet Founders get him and he is lost. To protect 410 from the treacherous 2, 58 must forget forever everything she knows, at a time when all she wants to do is remember. In 1970’s London, submerged in an ordinary body of flesh, she is haunted by the angel, Archturan – is it 2? Once again she is drawn into battle and this time, she has to win.
Because Archturan’s future has commenced. The Fleet are coming and everyone has forgotten.

Wow - the opening pages had me hooked in seconds. It's rare that I find another sci fi writer with a similar viewpoint as mine (or so it would appear) and it's such a relief! I've finished chap 1 and can't wait to read the rest. The title caught my eye because my second novel in my Fleet quintet ... view book
