about me

My writing has been described as 'character fiction' and would broadly fit into the categories of romance and women's fiction. I enjoy writing contemporary stories, in which relationships are placed in a social context. I strive to write in a way that is accessible and to create characters that readers, both male and female, will identify with.

'Elizabeth Clansham', which I wrote with the support of the Authonomy community, is now complete at 57,000 words - a long novella or a short novel! It is available to buy at Smashwords - link below.

Many thanks to all Authonomites who provided me with feedback on 'Elizabeth' - it was invaluable during the writing process.

I am currently taking a break from Authonomy and wish everybody here well in their writing projects.

Lizzie, I was attracted to your book by its setting in Norfolk in the past. I love the way that you set this idyllic rural scene and then immediately under-cut it with the child's anxiety at their mother's state. Good luck with you book! Catherine view book

John Paul, These poems are beautiful and the collection has the intriguing quality of an autobiographical set of poems. In particular, I love the fact that the poems evoke a sense of place and yet the places you write about are so disparate and conflicting, e.g contrasting 'A Suffolk Summer' wit... view book

I agree with another reader that this narrative is compelling and, whilst I note that others have warned against the diary format, this method certainly makes the speaker's voice very real. I think from the start Paul Cush is an intriguing character, with his expressions of love for his son but the... view book
