about me

So I'm a writer, an artist/illustrator and an adorable idiot.

The "Children of Light" has gone into hiding - thanks, a million thanks to everyone who gave this book a green light and a good thought, it is most appreciated. The project is put on hold, as I don't consider myself strong or mature enough to take on this story -- it'll take a little time for me to figure the story out, but it will become a book and it will hit the shelves. I'm just not ready for it yet and I have the gutts to admit it.

In the meantime, I'm preparing something else. I thought it would be easier than the "Children of Light" but it's not. However, I find this new story easier to build as it requires more of my imagination and less of anything else. Stay tuned.

In short: I'm 26, going on 27 (dammit!), I'm Romanian (born and raised, however bilingual with no actual English blood), I live in Northern Italy in a small and sucky town and I'm currently gathering the strength and resources to move to London and continue a better life there. I thought Italy might be a good in-between, but it was a bit of a let-down. I read, write and paint a lot, leaving little or no room for a social life. However, that hasn't made me socially awkward - or not yet, anyway. I can still unleash the party animal in case of utmost emergency. My brain is far too advanced for my physical age so I'm having trouble focusing sometimes, but there's nothing that a glass of good old Chardonnay can't fix!

And I'll probably keep a low profile around here until I can have something to show for.
Cheers!

favourite books

Neil Gaiman's "American Gods" and "Graveyard Book" (and everything else he's published, but these two are my absolute favorites). Anne Rice's "The Devil Memnoch" and "The Mummy" (and the entire Vampire Chronicles, while I'm here). Boris Vian's "Ecoume des Jours". William Golding's "Lord of the Flies". Herman Hesse's "Steppenwolf" and many, many more. But these usually pop up first.

Okay, I started reading and I found myself hooked. It's still a rough draft, I can see that as I myself am prancing around this website with such a piece. Sure, there's work to be done around the corners, some tenses that need to blend in better, but I can't nitpick your book. The best piece of advi... view book

Ok, you got me with this, really. It's really hard to find good sci-fi these days and I think you've got something seriously good going on here. There's a lot of action in this story and I can feel it, my eyes don't get tired after two paragraphs, you help your reader move quickly from one moment to... view book

I'm sorry it took so long for me to read this, it's been on my watchlist for ages. I'm a sucker for good ideas and when people go poke the unknown sides of literature there are 50% chances that they come up with something of epic proportions. Your book is one of the lucky 50%, really. I like the sty... view book

I've always been a sucker for married couples and household warfare, but this one is really good. I love the style and the basic idea kind of helps it stick out by itself with no additional effort. I really like it and thank you for mentioning it to me. I'd love to see a movie come out of this, it h... view book

This is a great idea and it was definitely worth reading through. If I were you, though, I'd keep the title - it's catchy, I like it. :D Best of luck with this, it's quite colorful! view book
