about me

I write because the only way to stop stories going round and round in my head is to type them down and get them onto paper! That and because I enjoy it of course. I've been writing for ten years, all so far in the sci-fi/fantasy genre. I'll carry on writing whether I get published or not, though obviously hoping for the former. I can't imagine a better job than getting paid for writing down your daydreams.

Onto the biographical bit. I'm 30 and live in west London with one wife, two cats and three fish. I work in cleanrooms where I were blue coveralls and a white mask that makes me look like a smurf.

NOTE TO READ REQUESTS
After first reading every single request I got after joining this site I soon came to the conclusion that I would soon have no time for writing my own stuff! So here's the deal, read requests are welcome only if you're prepared to read and comment on my own work. If I see you've already read mine then I'm more likely to get back to yours first. I always read and comment on the first chapter, and read on further if i really like it.

Conspiracy (Gateway trilogy bo....

T J Pallett

Not everyone in shining armour is a hero

The world of Bourn seems like it’s straight out of a fairy tale - but that world is growing up. New technology is being developed, including ‘gateways’; devices that allow travellers to bridge the gap across the stars to other worlds. For over a decade these gateways have been kept secret from the population and used by an elite band of explorers. The secret is ripped wide open when a race of vicious creatures, the vekling, find a way to cross the gap from their world into others, leaving a trail of death behind them. One raid on a village has left only a few survivors, including the idealistic young tour guide Will and his bookish older brother Isaac. They fall into the company of Jude, a charasmatic if somewhat vain knight who is prominent in the campaign to force the vekling out of the land. But just how are the vekling able to travel from their own world to Bourn? The answer they discover is every bit as horrifying as the monsters themselves...

Gateway Trilogy book two.

I'm not providing a full pitch for risk of giving spoilers to the first book. Mortality has been uploaded for those of you who have read the first book and want to know what happens next. For the rest of you, Conspiracy is where the story begins.

Hi Jo Just read the first chapter of this one (so many books on my promise to read list, so little time) but I like what I've read so far. Your style is easy to read and i confess that I knew nothing about the assasination of president McKinley till I started reading this. best of luck Tom... view book

Ch2 - Midsummer Festivities The writing here is very polished, no grammer mistakes that I could find, so here's just some minor nit-picks. 'A radiant atmosphere even lilted over in the poor village, huddling too often like a wounded animal against the outskirts of the fort.' - I kind of feel t... view book

Ch 4 - Tools for my vengance Ryla, Byon's little sister seemed to have picked up on the urgency of their situation. - May read better with an extra comma. 'Ryla. Byon's little sister, seemed to have picked up on the urgency of their situation.' He froze, the action was so alien to him that as ... view book

Just read to the end of your first chapter (or chapter three on authonomy). Afraid I don't have anything in the way of useful comments as this reading very polished already. An itriguing idea and a nice use of both first person and present tense which are rarely seen in sci-fi these days. view book

The Last Messenger The sentance structure you use is very short and sharp, something I'm not used to seeing in fantasy, but I think in this case it works, far better than the long dense paragraphs some other writers use. It serves to throw us straight into the story within a few lines, something... view book
