about me

Born in Argentina, I grew up in a cattle ranch; endured private British school, and began college. It was the turbulent seventies; our political system collapsed; terrorism unleashed brutal military action, and I lost sight of my future. Like a lobster crawling out of the boiling pot looking for cooler climes, I emigrated to Toronto. I apprenticed in publishing and advertising, eventually launching my own communications business. In 1991, flush with money and needing to thaw out, I sailed around the world -- from Panamá to Florida, USA, via the South Pacific. Four years at sea and one thousand four hundred sunrises showed me a planet worth knowing, worth defending. In 1995 I settled in Florida, USA and delivered yachts to the Caribbean and Europe. Between waves and storms and flying fish I wrote articles and short stories. In 2006 I returned to Buenos Aires where I collided with my past.

CLASH

Elina Castro Almeyra

Tati Landau loved a man whose fate was sealed. She joined a group slated for annihilation. When the axe fell, she tried to get out.

Thirty-seven years ago in Argentina, the struggle for democracy turned into a roaring tempest that shattered thousands of young lives in its wake. Drawing from personal experience and from the death of a childhood friend, the Author focuses on an alienated teenager as she falls in love with a terrorist and joins his cell. First non-partisan work in English to present all sides of Argentina´s Dirty War, delves into the reasons why prosperous, educated young people became mass killers. Argues that the Dirty War was inevitable, and proposes Nunca Más Never Again as a way of life.

Gracias Authonomy scribes for inspiring this revision.

Just one little suggestion -- Separate Amanda and Craig´s scenes with double spacing or asterisks. Otherwise it´s a bit confusing. I like the way this is shaping up. Elina view book

Kenneth -- I see you are a prolific writer. Spy in the Chancery is well-paced and entertaining, with well defined characters, and a good mystery developing. Here´s hoping for more chapters. I´ve got your other stories on my watchlist -- especially the one about the Andes settlement. Am curi... view book

Well Clive -- I finally finished reading. I have no severe crit for you, only a few tweakings: By CH 11 when Lavois and Tropel show up again, I´d lost track of them. I´d like less of a backstory for them, and more for Croffman. I can picture Malbec and Vitelli clearly, but Croffman eludes m... view book

The set up for this story is so complex, intelligent and filled with mystery that I read twelve chapters in two sittings. And woe my back, but it was worth it. What strikes me is the author´s profound knowledge of the setting and of his characters -- and there are many complicated, flawed char... view book
