Job Hunted

Cheryl Angst

Toni never expected the firm’s head-hunter to take the position literally. Targeted for promotion, Toni realizes climbing the corporate ladder can be a real killer.

Toni—don’t call her Antonia—Donnelli discovers ‘no’ really isn’t an option when she refuses an international security company’s unsolicited job offer. Disgusted by the company’s extreme interview practices, Toni turns down the contract and expects to be left alone. Her anger bubbles over when the corporation refuses to accede to her wishes. Hell-bent on asserting her right to determine her own career path, Toni remains loyal to her current employer despite the temptations of the new position: travel, high pay, generous expense account, and—possibly best of all—spending time with the corporation’s alluring recruiter, Matthias Clarke. When the firm threatens the lives of her mother and daughter in order to persuade her to sign, Toni must find a way to escape the company’s deadly hiring policy before she and her family end up on the receiving end of the ultimate pink slip.

I'm backing you for the next few days because I feel your writing deserves the recognition. One side note, in the second scene in chapter one you switch POVs between Colin... view book

Hi Jonathan, I think you have an interesting premise here, but the first chapter starts off quite slowly for something labeled a thriller. I'm not saying you need to jump into the action in the first sentence, but you're telling us a lot and it tends to slow the pace down. I like the idea of star... view book
