about me

I have only the first few chapters of my currently finished works posted. Have worked too hard to have someone steal my "blood, sweat and tears".

The literary muse reared its head many years ago and I have been writing Historical Romance ever since. Now that the children are grown and gone, I am diligently working on my passion in the hope of producing the next New York Times Best Seller. Any literary agent willing to gamble on an unknown give me a ring. I won't disappoint or ruin your effort to take a risk.

Heart's Desire

Chrysta Mane

Forced to trade a ship's deck for land, Jason Batemann never expected a chance meeting with a fiery Southern belle to irrevocably change his life.

As a sailor cannot ignore the siren call of the sea, a heart cannot deny true love. Hardened against love by women more desirous of money and titles than the man alone, Jason Batemann is captivated by a young dark-eyed southern belle during a chance encounter on a northbound coach. All too soon he finds himself doing things completely out of character, including the desire to make her his mistress, even as marriage to another draws closer.

Both of her parents now dead, Ariana Gaylord is left to run the family plantation while fending off unwanted attentions and proposals. Merely sixteen, she has no idea what it means to be in love with a man, the special kind that binds, envelops, humbles. Yet the kiss of a tall, handsome stranger on a northbound coach stirs a craving her heart findsimpossible to ignore.

Unbeknownst to the pair, love's tendrils have started to weave into their hearts, into the very essence of their souls. Will they stop fighting fate and yield to love’s siren call?

Love Me, Love Me Not

Chrysta Mane

Can Skid Row and the Upper Crust find any commonality? No! Or Maybe they can, if only . . .?

Like picking flower petals off a stem . . . he loves me, he loves me not. Alexandra is the only triplet unable to find lasting love. She's begun to believe “he loves me not” is her destiny, especially after a short-lived, spirit crushing marriage. In an emotional tail-spin, she joins the suffrage movement, risking personal safety and ostracism by her family, to follow her beliefs. But the tall, muscled man, who assists her brother to bring her back to the family home, poses a deeper and more serious danger than any encountered before. Piercing blue eyes inflame desires thought long gone, invade nightly dreams, even as a long-buried secret threatens all.

Growing up in a Skid Row flophouse, Tyler Kincaid knew only one kind of woman and thought he'd never marry. After helping a good friend bring home a wayward sister, the suffragette turns out to be a contradiction that touches something deep inside him. The auburn haired beauty holds to her strong beliefs, challenges all that would tie her down. The disparity in their upbringing rules his head; his heart yearns to possess the green-eyed beauty forever.

While written in a time and about a personage of which I an not acquainted, I found it an enjoyable, easy read. Dialogue flows though I would have liked it a little more period in tone. Overall, well done. Will put on my shelf as soon as a space opens up. Chrysta Mane view book

David, Enjoyed the edits. . . really flows much better, though I still find the beginning chapter too long. Would have preferred the barest of essentials, just enough to tantalize the reader into wanting to find out how Madeline [and young son] came to be in such horrible straits and what made he... view book

David, Managed to get through the posted chapters, but not without some loading issues. Your prologue was quite intriguing and your dialogue is well done. That said, needs some work as I got a little lost on who was speaking at times. Dialogue and prose just sort of stopped in mid-thought. ... view book

Junetee, Read through first 2 chapters. It's an easy read with enough descriptive passages to get a good sense of time and place. would have liked more dialogue than prose, but that is personal preference. However, I did find the use of swear words very distracting [the English language is div... view book

Unfortunately, there was a problem loading Chapter 4, so I can only comment on 1-3. The prologue really intrigued, especially with the explosion at the end. Chapter 1 was so far afield in characters, etc. I got a little lost and read more to try and see if things started to tie together even just ... view book
