about me

*** My complete novel, A Guardian of Innocents, is now available for download on any computer or e-reading device. ***

I work as a claims adjuster for a large insurance company by day, while trying to fulfill my dream of becoming a published horror novelist at night. With a ranch to take care of on weekends, I'm left without a whole lot of spare time. If you've left comments or crits, I will try to return the favor, but please be patient. I live in Fort Worth, TX but work in Dallas. Go Cowboys!

Anyone wishing to contact me outside of this site (agent, publisher or otherwise) can reach me at..........

I will also read & comment if requested, and if I have time.

favourite books

Stephen King's Dark Tower series, It & The Stand.
Greg Bear's Songs of Earth & Power.
J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.
Thomas Harris' Hannibal series.
Orson Scott Card's Ender series
And I also highly recommend Stephen King's On Writing, this should be required reading for anyone seeking to become a published author.

A Guardian of Innocents

Quiet and withdrawn, Jeshua felt his life had no purpose—that was until he killed his father. (Warning: graphic content)

Quiet and withdrawn, Jeshua felt his life had no purpose—that was until he killed his father. Jack, a serial child molester, was unaware of his son’s ability to read minds. He had no idea his son, once his favorite prey, could see the sick fantasies lurching around inside his head . . . or his plans to abduct, rape and strangle another child.

As Jeshua is fleeing the scene of Jack’s murder, he rouses the attention of a mysterious apparition. As the years pass, this same figure appears each time he slays another sex offender. Jeshua doesn’t know if he can trust this spirit, even though he has come to his aid on multiple occasions. His wariness is affirmed when the apparition interferes with the rescue of a young girl, a gifted psychic who holds the power to change the course of Jeshua’s dark and lonely existence.

Hi, Ashley. I read the first chapter. I wish I had some crits but I really don't have any suggestions. You seem to know your target audience well and your writing shows it. Jeff view book

Hi, Tony. I read the first chapter and enjoyed it. I couldn't help but snicker at the part with the disemboweled rat & Duma chasing a handicappped person. My only suggestion is for the very first sentence where you said something to the effect of "the vet check-ups usually go ok." I would erase that... view book

Cute and adorable. This isn't what I would normally read since I'm a horror writer, but I think this could do quite well if presented to the right market. view book

Even with the best books I can almost always find little things to nit-pick at, but I haven't found any with this one. I've read through the prologue & the first 3 chapters. Your word choice, pacing and character development are all spot on. This book reads like it's been very heavily & carefully ed... view book

Wow! Very fast-paced. You hooked me immediately, which is not an easy thing to do cuz I'm so damn picky. You have realistic dialogue, excellent word choice and good use of imagery. Sorry I don't have any crits to offer. Good luck! Jeff view book
