about me

I am an aspiring writer that has many interests and talents. I believe that writing one's ideas in a public arena is the source of liberation to the writer and the people. I write because I have a deep-seated urge to express myself. However, I am terrified of expressing myself at the same time. I enjoy writing in many different genres, but favor; fantasy, horror, literary fiction, erotica and various non-fiction.
I am also a college student, about to graduate with my BS in Psychology and Philosophy with plans to go to graduate school for MF and Sex therapy.
Happy writing and I hope you enjoy!

The Slumber of Brynhild

Kayla Shaw

The original story of Sleeping Beauty set in 18th century Germany during the Bamberg Witch Trials.

The original story of sleeping beauty comes from the Icelandic Saga, The Sigdrifumol. Based on the legendary myth, The Slumber of Brynhild is the story of tragic love between an auspicious warrior (Sigurd) and a woman condemed of witchcraft (Brynhild) when she cannot be aroused from a magickal slumber cast upon her by the Nordic All-Father Odin. With a demented Priest hell-bent on seeing Brynhild put to death, and a crazed hieress who will do anything to see her daughter Guddrun marry Sigurd, love turns to regret and inevitably tragedy.

James, I hope I do come on to strong when I say that I F-ing love this book so far. I just finished the first three chapters and just let me say that I could see myself picking up this book right now at my local bookstore, reading it straight through, and then forcing all my aquaintances to read i... view book

Dear Danielle, Wizards and Witches are always a safe bet to make your story intriguing. I really liked the begining chapter-I think it does everything its supposed to do. I think your dialouge is especially strong and well-crafted just as your prose is. I'm excited to read more! My only concern is,... view book

Jane, This is an intriguing read. It feels along the same lines as "A child called it" and various V.C. Andrews books (which is a compliment, those books were some of my favorite as a teenager). It always surprises me when a story makes me hurt inside. I think you captured the situation with vivid ... view book

Joe, This is utterly beautiful. I think you have mastered the art of folk-telling. (and that is not a bad thing in my opinion) I have only read the first chapter, but I am enthralled by your characters. I care bout what happens to them. I like that you made your animal characters so realistic and h... view book

Daniel, thank you for saying the things that so many of us wish we could say, and thank you for pointing me out to this. This book is right up my alley because I am also in rites of passage work, but I do it in a religious sense. It is the most powerful tool to transform lives (you really get to kn... view book
