Kate escaped to the remote Scottish island of Auchenmor for a quiet life - reluctant Lairds, sexy bagpipers and seal rescues weren't in the plan.
Kate breathes a sigh of relief when she's dumped at her best friend's wedding. Faced with moving back home, she takes a job with a cottage on the remote island of Auchenmor. Her first day starts badly when she falls at the feet of her new boss, Roderick.
Welcomed by the islanders, Kate's told Auchenmor is too small for secrets, but prickly Roderick's keeping something to himself. He leaves the island, and Kate's left in charge. Reminding herself that falling for someone on the rebound is a bad idea, Kate gets to work, renovating the cottages that will hopefully bring some money to the island's failing economy. Gorgeous bagpiper Finn brings a bit of excitement to island life, and takes Kate's mind off Roderick - until he comes back.
Kate's surprised to see another side to her employer when he helps her rescue an abandoned seal pup, but when his ex-girlfriend comes back on the scene, their friendship comes to an abrupt end. Kate finds out Fiona's got a sinister motive for coming back to the island she hates.
Can she be stopped before it's too late, and will Kate find a way to tell Roderick how she really feels?
