Junius Johnson & the Adventure....

Martin Hindley

The Adventure Weekly are Junius Johnson, Flyte Filimore and Padge Francham, three streetwise London kids on the trail of a deadly master of disguise.

The Secret of the Broken Bones starts on a cold crisp morning, the week before Christmas, when Junius Johnson and his best friends Padge and Flyte are summoned to a secret floor in Canary Wharf tower by Arkadiuz Boguz, the London Times chief crime correspondent, via a crossword clue that Junius has been looking out for every day since the death of his much-missed Dad. Detective Inspector Stephen Johnson was brutally murdered in the line of duty by his long-time enemy Subyalin, a much-feared underworld crime lord and master of diguises, but as a precaution that fateful day he left his field journal with his best friend Arkadiuz, on the understanding that if anything terrible happened to him, he (with the help of MI5) should prepare Junius to pick up his investigations where he left off... Kitted out with backbacks containing the latest techie gizmos alongside catapults, ball bearings and other stuff from a bygone age, the kids are whisked off in a super turbocharged helicopter to Grimscott, Derbyshire, north of England to track down the skeleton of a Saltoposuchus, the world's tiniest dinosaur, stolen four years ago from the Natural History Museum and Junius' Dad's final case.

Thanks Orphan - I'll look yours up. The cut and paste exercise was just to point up the fact that this seems to be a market for trading complimentary comments about each other's work in the hope that they reach the editor's desk. This misses the point - these books should be judged by merit alone, n... view book
