about me

I'm 38, I live in Arlington MA, I have a wife and a dog. there's a lot more about me but I don't think I could fit it all in here.

Book two is about two-thirds done. I've uploaded the first four chapters. take a look and feel free to point out any edits or criticisms that you may have. Enjoy!

favourite books

LoTR, the Hollows series by Kim Harrison, most stuff by Steven King but especially the Dark Tower series. I love to read but I never seem to have enough time.

After the Storm book 2

Don Chase

The continuing post apocalyptic adventures of Duncan " Mack" Mackenzie and his clan as they fight to stay alive in a harsh new world.

It's been five plus years since the end of the world came and the few people that have survived have had to deal with unimaginable hardships in those five years. Now, the government has come out of the safety of their bunkers and want to take back there long lost control. Clans have taken place of towns and Mack is the clan chief of Arlington, along with his friends, family and loyal German Shepherd he fights to keep his people safe in this harsh new world and free from the old remnants of the government. The government has sent in a new colonel to clean things up in Massachusetts and they've given him the go ahead to use any means necessary. His biggest problem are the clan heads, especially Mack, that want nothing to do with these remnants of what was, and is no longer, a decent government. This is the second book of the After the Storm series.

After the Storm

Don Chase

The world ended five years ago. Now Duncan's clan need to find a way to survive and stay free from the new government as well.

The world as we know it is no more. A giant meteor hit the US five years ago. It wiped out almost 95% of the population. The government went into hiding and left the rest to fend for itself. Now, almost three years after the “storm” the government came out of their bunkers. The leadership had changed drastically though, and not for the better. Now, Five years later and the remaining populace have had to fight just to survive. Those that remain, take care of each other. “Clans” have formed and they are governed by a clan “head” or “chief”. Duncan is the clan head in a town outside of Boston. He and his men find food, and supplies to keep the rest of the 1000 plus members of his clan alive, anyway they can. This includes stealing from the remnants of the old government. The local military has been ordered to get things under control and have been sent a new CO to get the job done. As if surviving in a world with little fresh water or food wasn’t hard enough, the clan has to deal with a tyrannical government trying to regain its' lost control.

Hi David, I am not a very religious person nor am I a huge fan of most non fiction, but I read the first four chapters of your book and found it very easy to read and intriguing enough to get me that far into it. Well done! best of luck! Don view book

I just read the first five chapters. I really enjoyed the prologue and chapter three. I liked the old man immensly. All the characters seem to be well written but from what I've read he was my favorite so far. Good work. I'll be adding this to my WL and shelf. view book

I only got to read a small portion of this story but what little I did was well written and made me wish I had more time to delve deeper. Nice work. view book
