about me

4 things you need to know about me:

1) I always return reads.

2) I abhor contract-like comments of the type: "Will you read my story please? I'll reciprocate". If you want my opinion of your work, go and read my work, and either back it or not! I will return the read whatever your opinion of my book might be!

3) I am a very harsh and rather blunt reviewer. Expect my real opinion of your book, with not too much coddling to soften the blows.

4) I only back books that I think are exceptional and refuse to feel guilty about not backing someone who's backed me.

The cover of my book was kindly and superbly done by Bradley Wind.

Other than that:

I am a young author, 24 years of age. My publications so far are limited to a few high-school articles and short stories, published in the monthly magazine of the International Secondary School of EIndhoven. Though English is not my mother tongue, I hold a bilingual English-Romanian high-school diploma and English is my main communication-language in daily life.

I write fantasy, specialising in full-length fantasy novels. My current work is the first novel out of a series, and it is completed, while its sequel is currently being drafted. "The Mark of the Three" numbers some 750 pages at the moment. The novel is a combination of action, character interaction, and deeper philosophies related to religion, the creation of the world, and the nature of Good and Evil. For a simple reader in search only of an exciting adventure, the novel offers numerous plot twists, political intrigues, and an enormous range of battles. For those romantically inclined, "The Mark of the Three" traces the paths of several relationships, ranging from purely carnal lust to deep, abiding love. Finally, for those who favour subtlety and philosophy, this book attempts to sketch a parallel to our own world, defining concepts such as Gods, religions, and the very nature of men from the perspective of the characters involved.

The Mark of the Three

Maria Cristina

A fast-paced struggle, born at the dawn of time, ends in a cataclysmic clash at the gates of the Seven Hells.

Chaos has shaped a landmass called the Elder Continent. Wars have divided it into various autonomous regions. Under the watchful eyes of the seven Greater Gods, peace settles in after a long war. Now back home, soldiers grow crops and raise their families, and all over the land, devout adepts join the Priesthoods in their daily sermons.

Then Chaos returns.

The world trembles before the Shadow Legion. An army of Undead with a strict hierarchy, the Legion numbers many low-ranked soldiers, merely very efficient in breaking minds, and fewer leaders, the highest-ranked of which are able to change the texture of the world around them. With strange tattoos blazing sharp crimson as they delight in human fear and torment, the Legion's Council claims the souls that are just passing into the Realm of the Dead.

Astride winged stallions wreathed in flames, the Legion pillages first the city of Adén Edríth. Before the ruins are swept away to make room for what will become the Fortress of Dread, however, a woman bearing the amulet of Kayde, God of Death and Magic, saves a last heir of this city, chosen by the Greater Gods themselves...

Dear Danny, I've been seriously out of time lately, hence my only getting to read this now. You've got two bits of bad luck. The first is, your genre is not exactly my cup of tea. The second is, I'm a bit on the harsh side of reading and critique. I accepted to read and comment on your book thoug... view book

Dear Camille, I read the first two chapters of this story, and I think it's got quite a bit of potential! The plot itself is interesting and you introduced the scene rather well with a short prologue. There are a few observations that I would like to make, however: Firstly, I had a feeling ... view book

Dear Jose Carlos, I loved your book. I am usually the nit-picky kind of critic, pointing out even the smallest of flaws, but I hardly have anything to say about this book. Let me highlight some of the things I liked about The Öbergemau File. First and foremost, the style of your narration -- f... view book

Dear Flicka, Your book has been on my WL for a while now; it's just taken me some time to get around to it. First of all, let me tell you: I liked the general setting of your story, and especially the way you worked the sword in. On the other hand, however, I feel that you could slightly improve ... view book

Dear Keef, I backed this book after reading half of chapter one, it was THAT good. The idea -- though not entirely original in view of several books and movies that i've already glanced at, and probably many more that I am utterly unaware of -- comes to life brilliantly in your wording, descripti... view book
