Killing Elizabeth

Simon Goodway

All Adrian wants is to kill his wife. It's the perfect crime... until his alibi implicates him in another death. Why isn't murder ever simple?

The magic has faded from Adrian Hadley's marriage, so when he hits it off with teen runaway Kelly, it's not long before they're breaking his wedding vows. But soon wife Elizabeth learns of his infidelity and he finds himself on the street.

Adrian and Kelly set up home together, and life's good until Adrian starts to worry about a terrible secret he foolishly shared with his wife. Can he trust her to keep it now they're no longer an item? The stakes are too high to take the chance, and he faces the unpleasant task of killing Elizabeth.

I started at chapter 20 and read three chapters. It's very well written, and a gripping story. I'd read more if I had time. Annette's a strong character and I enjoyed reading about her situation and predicament. Little details bring it to life, like the doctors arguing during an operation, and An... view book

Hi Betty, I dipped in at chapter 5. The writing's polished and very readable, and there's the right amount of period detail to make the world seem real. I didn't find myself gripped by the plot, but I get the impression that's because I hadn't read the preceding chapters, I don't think it's a fau... view book

I jumped in at chapter 6. At first I found the shortness of the sentences and paragraphs distracting. By the middle of the chapter I'd got used to it, though I'm still not sure I like it as a style - but that's probably just personal preference. Nigel seems more like a caricature of an Englishman... view book

Hi Steve. Interesting premise! I jumped in at chapter 6 and didn't quite manage to pick up the plot, so just a few comments on style. Sercurius's long speech felt like it could do with breaking up a bit more, maybe with more comments from his audience or their thoughts as they take in what he's tell... view book

I've read the first 2 chapters and it's an excellent start. The first sentence is a great hook, and so far it's held my interest all the way. I thought the end of chapter 2 was slightly disappointing - maybe I'm missing something, but the paragraph quoted from the article doesn't seem to have any pa... view book
