Born in Belgium, brought up everywhere, Sweden, Egypt, Russia, Colombia, USA, France. First language: Swedish (now forgotten), next French, Arabic (forgotten), English, Russian (forgotten), Spanish (weak), Italian.
M.A. in economics (Columbia University) and worked at all kinds of things, from banking to editing, free-lance journalism, teaching college, and finally working for the United Nations in Rome (1978-2003).
Through all this, I have always painted (see my website) and written books: fictionand non fiction.
Now I'm having fun on my blog under the (pen) name CLAUDE NOUGAT (see link below) and writing, writing, writing!

I agree with Brian Bandell. Great writing - you have a "voice" that works! - but the pacing needs to be revised. Definitely cut out the trivia, repetitive phone calls, a family dinner during which nothing happens etc, in short, everything that slows down the pace of events...I rather like the descri... view book
