about me

As well as reading and writing a variety of genres, I am a Brownie leader who enjoys all manner of arts and crafts. I especially enjoy needlework and always have a couple of projects on the go. I am a student of ancient history and archaeology who would have preferred to stay at university rather than face the real world. As well as these interests I enjoy archery and walking my dog, Bessie.

Once Upon A Stage

Holly Champion

A collection of short plays for children based on fairy stories from around the world.

A collection of short plays for children (and children at heart) based on fairy stories from around the world. This project was inspired by one of the elements in Girlguiding UK's Adventure 100 challenge, which required the girls to cast and perform a play. Although these plays were initially written with Brownies (age 7-10) in mind, the readership of these plays should no more be limited to that age group than should the readership of the original stories themselves. The subject matter and humour should appeal to young and old alike. Within this collection are versions of familiar and well-loved tales, like Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks, as well as less familiar stories, like The Three Feathers and Tattercoats, and local variations of well-known tales, like Tom-Tit-Tot, the English version of Rumplestiltskin.

Thank you very much for your comment. As for the proper format... I have no idea! I'm rather new to all this and need all the help I can get. view book

Thank you for your comment. It has taken me a while, but I am now updating the chapters to remove the tables. Hopefully this should solve the problem. Many thanks Holly view book

I enjoyed this and especially like the way you captured the 'feel' of the kids' conversation within the writing style of the narration. Best of luck. view book
