about me

Today (14 June 2011) I removed my book - "The Pyramid Legacy" - from Authonomy as I don't have the available time to spend attempting to reach the editor's desk.

My book has now been professionally edited from cover to cover (by Genevieve Graham - www.writingwildly.com, who I very highly recommend) and I will now seek the services of an agent using the more traditional route. I'd like to thank all those members of the Authonomy community who provided comments and/or backed the book. It was genuinely appreciated.

Sample chapters of "The Pyramid Legacy" are available at www.thepyramidlegacy.com for those interested.

I will still visit the site from time to time to watch the progress of the books I've backed. They will all stay on my shelf until they either receive a gold medal, or the author's remove them from the site. When the time does come to replace them, then I will only place books on my shelf that I genuinely believe are the cream on Authonomy.

I now want to spend my available time writing the sequel - "Operation Stonehenge" - rather than playing what seems to be the only Authonomy game that guarantees a place on the desk - constant, and hugely time consuming, spamming. I hated having to do it and now feel happier within myself for taking no further part in it. Should "The Pyramid Legacy" ever be published it will because those within the industry believe it to be worthy of publication.

For the record here are some of the comments fellow Authonomists made about the book. Please be sure to take a look at their work:

“The book cover is eye-catching and so is the pitch. Beautiful scenic descriptions and exciting finds, this is a book to savor.” – CMTStibbe (Chasing Pharoahs)

“Still loving it! This should be published :-)” – J.Kinkade (The Zero Line)

“This book has style! It's fast-paced and exciting as well as throwing up intriguing mysteries and ideas. I really really enjoyed it!” – Naphilia (Into The Dark (Book One of Melanie’s tale))

“The only thing that would make it better is if it were sitting on my bookshelf at home.” – Sandea

“Magic holiday read” – Firestorm

“it is an interesting and exciting read, definitely.” – Mirnian (Raven Son)

“You had me at the first paragraph! Clearly painted a picture in my head, fast paced, interesting, not wasting any words and much more...The last paragraph in the prologue had me panting for more.” – Folaketaylor (Anonymous Gift Giver)

“I enjoyed what you have so far and hope you don't keep us waiting to find out what comes next.” – Cool1 (Partners)

“It's all there with great characterization, dialogue, impeccable detail and setting. I am absolutely eager to read it all.” - Mary Enck (A King in Time)

“You have created a first class thriller here which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I wouldn’t hesitate in buying ‘The Pyramid Legacy’” – Neville (The Secrets of The Forest – The Time Zone)

"What a great and captivating read! . . . this is a book that is unique and fresh." - sisteroficarus (Kin of the Owl)

"The fear and violence flowing from the discovery was palpable....you could visualise the urgency and the madness of the situation and the blind panic caused by the realisation that all was not as it should be...ground breaking and explosive!" - Crispy (Marking Time)

'"The Pyramid Legacy" had me enthralled the moment I started reading it. The pacing was vigorous from the depths of the pyramid to the airport escapade.' - Kenneth Edward Lim (The North Korean)

"I think a bestseller is sitting here at Authonomy and I can't wait until it is on my bookcase at home." - Santa Unplugged (Faith, Hope and Reindeer)

"Your prose has a slick, economical assurance. Your characterization excellent. Plotline intriguing." - NA Randall (The Butterfly and the Wheel)

"It jumps right into the plot and doesn't slow down. Within the first few pages there are already numerous unanswered questions I'm dying to find answers to. Great job grabbing the attention of the reader. It reminded me a bit of a James Rollins novel" - Joshua Jacobs (The Words of Adriel)

"Well written with an excellent plot, it is a real page turner and will be very hard to set down! 6 STARS!" - Kathryn Fogleman (The Dragons Son)

This is the most gripping and best written book I have come across so far on Authonomy. The newly edited first chapter is outstanding. The way the environment is described gives a true sense of being there. This is a seriously well crafted piece of writing. Forget the editor's desk, this should be i... view book

My daughter would have loved me reading this to her as a child. We would have had a lot of fun as I read it and encouraged her to "Rrroar" like Leopold and BUZZZZ like Beatrice. I'd highly recommend this for young children and therefore happy to give it six stars. Clive The Pyramid Legacy view book

When looking at a book, even on this site, I take myself through the process I'd adopt when buying a book in a store. Cover, title, premise. If those three things don't appeal then I don't look any further. The first thing I'd do Duane is lose the generic book cover. There are many sci-fi books comp... view book

Just read the prologue to start with. You just sense something is about to kick off the moment Charlie Faber clocks in. Very well written with great detail, particularly when the bogey is spotted, that really drew me in. The prologue finishes on a great hook. Why the cover up? I guess I need to read... view book

What a great start. I'm immediately hooked in to find out more about Gil - particularly as he describes himself a "work in progress". A very strong opening chapter. I will be back for more. Clive The Pyramid Legacy view book
