about me

Time is the big problem. Apart form writing, reading, and all the other mundane facets of life, I home educate an autistic child and am a mother to two teenagers... so I do apologise if I do not reply to all those who send messages.

When reading on Authonomy I prefer to 'drift' around the site attracted by titles and pitches of whatever pops up before me for whatever reason (providentially!). I will back books or watch them often without commnent, becaues I want o support them but don't have time to say why. IF I BACK YOU IT'S BECAUSE I LIKE YOUR BOOK, I DO NOT EXPECT YOU TO BACK MINE, and I only look at work I am drawn to, never simply because you've backed mine.

I have two books uploaded, bothe complete:
An anthology of short stories, verses and odd little ditties - varied and quirky, it defies genre and age group; and a full length children's fantasy novel.

NEWS: My Novel, 'The Other Side of Nowhere' is now fully uploaded and complete.

Though my M.O. probably dooms me to the slushy regions of the lists I do hope some of you will come across me and enjoy the free, no obligation read. ALL comments welcome.

Thanks everyone.

A Shilling for Them

Stephie Hart

Twelve short stories, ditties and other writings (a penny for each), aimed at the child within us all.

"A Shilling for Them" is a selection of short, modern day fables: new perspectives on traditional themes in a variety of forms and a genre that can only be described as 'philoso-fantasy'. It is a wild and wonderful walk through a landscape of heart-warming, tear-tinged, laughter-filled takes on the big questions of life.

The stories have grown from ideas, cast as seeds to the compost of a mind so disorganised by its own muddled life that it could barely be described as fertile soil. Perfectly cultivated answers were never going to be possible but with a pinch of science here, a grain of philosophy there, a sprinkling of Aesop, a scattering of faith, a smattering of sci-fi, all hoed in with a huge dollop of imagination and a top dressing of humour, who knows what could grow from all that?

The Other Side of Nowhere

stephie hart

From somewhere-beyond-time, where space has no form, unknown forces direct your life... whether you believe in them or not. Read this story if you dare!

When 14 year old Kendil and his friends find themselves unwilling participants in the out-workings of ancient prophecy, there is no going back: once something is known it cannot be unknown. What they come to know is that there is a truth beyond legend, a magic beyond words and world beyond belief… The Other Side of Nowhere. The revelations shake their world, upend their beliefs and change their lives.

As you read this story be sure to keep your heart and mind grounded in logic - if you can - or it could change the way you look at your world… forever.

‘The Other Side of Nowhere’ is an allegorical tale of the battle between good and evil, the astonishing power of Truth and the redemptive potential of faith. It does not demand belief... but does raise the question: is seeing really believing?

[NB: the last chapter uploaded contains a short synopsis of the entire plot]

I like your questions, and (as a Christian) appreciate your answers. A 'borderline' or struggling christian may be encouraged by your writings, so maybe that's your market but non christians (in my experienc - married to an atheiist) are unlukely to be drawn in. you have wonderful drive and enhusias... view book

I loved your pitch, which drew me in. I'd love to read the whole of this - I may plod on online when I have time but much prefer to read in print (hint to listening publishers/agents) I did note you tend to slightly muddle long sentences eg by missing a subject out eg "..shifty and conviving with ... view book
